Golden color...a nose to fucking die for...aging fruits, vanilla, apricot, brandy..this nose is a live with complex fruit followed by some nice musty funk. I was warned that my sample was a very young Cable Car and would probably need to mature a bit...but it was still quite nice with sour and fruit flavors. The strange thing i found was that it seemed a bit hot, especially for only 7%.

(2007 BOTTLE @ TORONADOS)yellow body with not much head.i pick up oak, lemon, wood, and a slight hint of fruit.VERY smooth and balanced. (2008 SAMPLE @ LOST ABBEY)lots more fruit in the finish on this years.honestly i prefer it over the 2007.

Amber beer with an off-white head. Tart, fruity aroma. Peachy fruit, very tart flavor with some oak. Lingering oak and tartness with lots of woodiness and almost some tar. Nice.

Big thank to Larry for this beer. Wasn’t sure I would ever see a bottle. Pour is a golden orange. Small, bubbly white head. Aroma is sour fruit and mild funky. Mildly tart flavor with a touch of sweetness. Pleaseant mouthfeel and body.

Bottle from Toronado SD. Clear golden with a fluffy white head. Sour, funk, and cherry aroma with hints of vanilla and oak. Green apple, lemon, white wine taste with notes of creamy vanilla and cherries and a dry finish.

Once again, a huge thanks to Vince over at the Port Brewery for hooking me up with a few tasters of this one. I had just finished talking with Justin on the phone about how i wanted to try cable car and proximus when vince offered me a couple samples of each. Needless to say, I was pretty stoked. Anyway, thanks again Vince. Pour was a hazy, murky yellow with pretty active carbonation. A sweet citrusy funk fills your nostrils as it’s poured. Slight floral notes blend in beautifully with light fruit scents. The taste so complex that it took a few sips to really identify what i was tasting. Tart but smooth citrus flavors with a little bit of a bite on the finish. Absolutely amazing. I would kill to get my hands on another bottle of this stuff.

I managed to get a bottle at the Toronado grand opening in San Diego on May 24. Firstly, a MAJOR thanks to wetherel for calling me and letting me know that a few bottles were in the cooler for sale. I wasn’t planning on driving down from Carlsbad until I got that voicemail. Split the cost with Katie, we couldn’t believe that more people weren’t buying them up. Just pure craziness to have two bottles of this rarity side by side as we drank with wetherel and alohaC at the bar. It’s pants-creaming good. Hazy dark yellow color with medium white bubbles and swirls. Rich and rounded oak wood aroma with wet hay, lemon and biscuit tones with barnyard funk. All flavor components blend together amazingly well. Some citrus and light toast up front, with lighter barrel tones and brett acidity on the finish. Perfect amount of tartness, drinking multiple glasses was no problem. Slightly dry and a wonderful body. My first thought before I poured it was not to overrate due to hype, but all of my expectations were met. Flat out an incredible ale.

Hazy yellow-beige. Lightly cheesy nose with light fruit and a hint of yoghurt. Tastes like a new pair of Adidas, lots of tartness on the tongue, a splash of yeasty character and a little bit of fruitiness. Good balance - it’s a nice beer but it’s no Proximus.
