Commercial Description:
For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

From the bottle. Pours orange/gold with a smooth white head. Hoppy nose, citrus and yeast. Dry and hoppy flavor, soft fruitiness of apricot leading to a bitter finish.

Slightly cloudy light gold with a modest layer of creamy white foam that sustains well. Aroma is sweet grains, light citrus, pepper, spices, light fruits (bananas), and yeast. Flavor is initially pale malts, grains, and yeast with sweet pears and bananas, transitions to grassy hops and slightly acidic citrus, then onward to pepper, spices, and herbs with a drying, yeasty finish. Palate is fairly full with moderate-high carbonation. Overall, a good saison with a slight imbalance of spices and yeast, will revisit next year when Tomme tweaks the recipe.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Aroma of malt, spice, and citrusy hops. Grapefruit hop flavor with peppery spice and slight herbal notes. Medium body. Grapefruit, malt, spice, and a bit of earth linger. Grapefruit and peppery spice/yeast just aclash a bit too much.

750 corked and caged poured into a tulip glass has a mellow golden color and a thick fluffy white two finger head that retained a thick topper. aroma has light spices, sweet malt, peppery banana yeast, fresh grass, and a layer of nice pine citrus hops. mouth feel is lighter with little carbonation. flavor has grass, spices, light citrus hops, and also some bitter resiny ones. sweetness mixed with a light pepper comes in with nice yeasty notes. finishes with a little sweet and sour watering up the tongue. very smooth, slightly sweet, and easy to drink.
