Commercial Description:
For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

Ooh, nice! Shared by Stine to the Minnesota beer gang at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, pours a hazy golden straw brew with a decent white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of spiced golden malt, yeast, some barnyard funk, a touch of coriander and some thin tropical fruit. Taste is light to medium bodied, good balanced carbonation with flavors of light golden malt, yeast, coriander and a touch of lemon zest. Finish is slightly dry, a touch of yeast in the aftertaste with a light lemon and coriander flavor.

[bottle] shared by stine. Wow, thanks. It was much appreciated and enjoyed. Poured cloudy straw gold with large white head. Aroma is citrus, yeast, and funkiness. Flavor is the same with some additional bread dough flavor. Fairly dry finish. Thanks again.

Rating #2800. Many, Many, MANY thanks to Stine for sharing this one! Cloudy yellow color with a thin head. Excellent aroma that is very barnyard-like and yeasty. Flavors of wheat, spices, yeast and a bone dry malt. Some dry horsey flavors on the finish. Wicked good.

Cloudy gold with a small white head. Fruity nose, rather big for a saison, with a dash of hops. Sweet and fruity flavor, yet with spice and citrus and a crisp dry quality. Interesting. Not bad.

Nose is spicy and a bit yeasty, flavor is quite smooth and same as the nose. Refreshing.

[Bottle, thanks Stine!] Pours hazy golden with an off-white head. Aroma is very fresh and nice with a lot of yeast and a good deal of coriander and citrus as well. Taste is similar with the citrus showing through. Medium mouthfeel with a decent finish. A very solid saison that I can hopefully try again some time.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Hazed apricot yellow body. Aroma of clove, banana, red pepper, mint zest, flowers, and lemon. Bright, sunny, funky, alive. Flavor is lightly nutty, with plenty of crisp hop bitterness of florals and pear skins; some brown spices, tarragon, and lots of bready yeasts. Palate is spritzy, pillowy, and medium in body; finishes sweetly with buttery pancake and some tartness of lemon juice. A lovely example; both delicate and generous. Thanks John!
