Commercial Description:
For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

(bottle thanks Stine!) Pours out light hazy gold with a white head. Really nice light funky aroma with some coriander, and citrus peel as well. The flavor was fairly spicy with some nice citrus as well that yields to a good long lasting yeasty finish. Medium mouthfeel, a really good saison.

Pretty delightful saison, another feather in Lost Abbey’s already crowded cap. Really aesthetically pleasing pour - initially bright golden with a fluffy head, later cloudy and interestingly textured. Aroma of pepper and dried apricots. On the first few sips, I thought "decent but unremarkable." But the further I got into it, the more impressed I was with the integration of dry hops, spices, shortbread, golden fruits, and a slight funky yeast detectable throughout. Really fine stuff.

750 ml bottle. Pale golden with a lightly hazy honeyed appearance. Aroma is initially quite grassy and herbal with a kiss of soft spiciness. As the beer starts to warm, the spiciness really picks up giving off a lovely light spiciness, lemon and orange citrus over a lightly bready and yeasty character. Fresh pilsner malt. Rich yeastiness with a grainy dryness. Very bright orange character along with the sweet spiciness and dry pale malt. Delicious brew.

Slightly hazy medium golden with good sized head. Aroma of belgian yeast and spices with a little bit of citrus. Taste is deep malt mixed with belgian yeast, and finished with a dry bitterness. A light honey sweetness is present. Less hops than I expected; they mainly come on in the finish. Well balanced and very enjoyable. A less hoppy version of ’07 Collaboration.
