Commercial Description:
For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

Bottle from Zinister at the Houston sour tasting. Thanks, man! Pours a nice, thick cheddar yellow/orange with a nose of Irish Spring and hay. Flavor is old apple and malty orange. Average mouthfeel. Party’s over, fellas.

750ml. Heavy malt, coriander and spice aroma. Gold body with white head that disipates quickly. Body texture of dense malt makes this on little hard to drink. At first decent spicey coriander flavor. Second glass the texture was like hard sweet sugar cany and was little harsh on palate. Different brew more like a Belgian to me but what do I know.

Just had a home brew TheBeerOrg sent me. A Saison style brew. Good coriander and fruity aroma. Hazy yellow body with white head and a sediment shot of yeast ion bottom of glass. Good zesty coriander and lemon fruit in the mix. Just thought I would add this on to this rating for comparison. Good refreshment from thebeerorg. Much better than the Carnevale Ale. Thank You. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

750ml from Lukas. Pours a really nice honey gold, small head and very little carbonation. Smells of all kinds of fruit and some funk with some nice herbal quality, too (even oregano? could have been my food). Great nose. Taste is a really nice tart pear with some light earthy funk and just a hint of bitter hop at the end. More sour/tart notes as it warms and really comes into its own. A little more carbonation/mouthfeel and this would be a worldbeater.

Pours thick and latherous w/ a modest head. Colors like canned fruit syrup. Smells fruity w/ a touch of funk. Full and luscious w/ good carbonation. Thick and chunky sour fruit and white spice with same mild funkhouse essence. Juicy and delicious from top to bottom. Long finish.

Bottle tasted side-by-side with Surly Cynic, and it won out by a nose. Bright golden-yellow color with a white head. Aroma of pale malt, light fruits, and some pepper/spice. Flavor is more of the same, slightly tart with green apple and pear notes, and some hops on the finish. Carbonation medium.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown corked bottle this beer poured a very cloudy honey color with a small white head. The aroma was crisp sweet citrus and pear. The flavor was crisp, tart, bitter and hat notes of pear and nutmeg. The finish was tart, dry and spicy. Ok.

Aroma- Fruity (tropical, papaya perhaps?), Phenolic. Perfumey, I think I might smell what they call "horse blanket". Fantastic smell Appearance- Good clarity, soft, white head. Glowing, light orange color. Flavor- Tastes of tropical fruit, with a slight graininess, very little perceptable hops. Some Funk and tartness. There is a medium sweetness at the end that could be distracting... great flavor overall. Palate- Not as dry as I thought it should be, it is efervescent though. Overall- Great Aroma and Flavor, it’s funky enough to be interesting. It could be a little drier, but it’s still darn drinkable.

Corked bottle from Easy E, thanks. I love that aroma, yeast, some orange, earthy notes and some spices. Light orange in color, not much head. Taste is nice as well. Nice orange flavor in this. Earthy and spices as well. Not much carbonation on this one. Light in texture and easy drinking. Nice saison. Thanks sparky27
