Commercial Description:
For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

Honey colored with thin, quickly disappearing head. Aroma of yeast, light citrus with a background of sour cherry. Smooth. Not as sweet as the initial smell would lead you to believe. A bit spicy with a finish of hops that doesn’t linger too long

The aroma on this made me think more of a lambic or biere de garde, certainly not a saison it was so pungent. The flavor has some sweetness and lightness that resembles a saison, though it still has some funk. A good beer.

Orangish pour with small white head. Yeasty, bready aroma, with light funk and citrus. Smooth, sweet, spicy, yeasty flavor with a touch of hops. Soft, thick mouth feel.. Finish is a bit sweet. Pretty good saison.

bottle. Pours a hazy pale orange, very small thin off white head that clears away very quickly. Aromas of yeasty bready sweetness, more sugary fruity sweetness. Too sweet on the nose, let alone for a saison. Flavor unfortunately follows the nose... lots of fruity sweetness. Some light spicy notes of coriander and cloves, some yeasty sharpness. Some light bitterness. Palate is thick and oily, heavy lingering sweetness on the finish. Not an altogether bad beer, but not very good, and very disappointing as a saison.

Bomber, I was slightly disappointed with this one. Pours orange color with and has a wild yeasty fruit aroma. Taste is similar to aroma. It is smooth and has a little hop bite but I was expecting more.

Pours a hazy golden with a small to medium sized head that has decent retention, very cloudy... Aroma of mild berry fruits yeasty with an off note of egginess, yolklike... Flavor follows the aroma with out the egg... Medium to full bodied with a weightiness that seems disproportionate for a 6.5% saison...

Big bottle. Giant head on very clear dark amber. Like a glass of chamagne with steady carbonation. Another Lost Abbey quiet Saison. Drinkable, quiet funk. Big earthy quality. Quiet earthy scent.

tap at City Beer. Pours with a hazy golden color. Great aromas of spices, yeast and pepper. Dough, pepper, and a hoppy bitterness dominate the flavor profile. Very smooth with nice carbonation, very nice flavorful saison.
