Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

bottle, at Carolina Crew get together, not sure who brought it. Ok aroma, sour, grassy, mild funk about it, apricot/peach. Tad hazed yellow golden color, ok head and lacing. Bitter flavor. Like aroma, but stronger, yeast shows itself. Lite body, thin mouthfeel, bitter finish. Easy to drink. Flavor was best part, aroma was kind of weak.

Bottle at monks i didnt enjoy this as much as last time. Pours a amber golden body with a off white head. Aromas is sweet and very earthy grassy hop aroma. Starts sweet nice fruit grapes from the hops but then gets dry and almost wheaty grass the finish loses its interest to me. I wouldnt pick this up again.

Thanks to Yaniv for sharing this! Hazy golden brown with an impressive rocky white head. Herbal to saaz like hops. Maybe a bit past prime. Some sweetness. Lighter. Subdued carbonation, small bubbles medium body. Past prime hops, spicy saaz to herbal hops. Stronger malt in the flavor than the nose. I like the idea, but the execution fails a bit.

A very solid brew...aroma is that of a freshly cut fairway. Clean. A beautiful dense white foam sits atop the 24 karat body with tiny bubbles exploding every couple of seconds. The flavor is predominantly lemongrass; a little sour, sweeter as it warms. The hop bitterness/citrus comes through in the finish. Another good beer by Lost Abbey!!!

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong ntoes of hops, giving it primarily grassy notes, but also lighter notes of grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of grass and grapefruit. Thanks Jeppe for sharing.

Sampled during Dark Lord Days at guest picnic tables. From 22-oz bomber pours a semi-clear light orange amber brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and no ring. Aroma of light sweet caramel malt, some raisins, white pepper and a touch of apple. Taste is medium bodied, very little carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, chocolate, a touch of apple and some dried spice. Finish has a thin citrus and fruity aftertaste that slowly disappears.
