Commercial Description:
It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life – the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldn’t sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we weren’t sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

(750ml bottle) Purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle for $8.99. Surprisingly small head with a cloudy, sediment filled body filled with gold. Nose of coriander, lemon zest, tonic water and green leaves. Flavour is nicely tart hops mixed with a yeasty front.

Light golden color. Aroma of light yeast, but not a lot after that. Flavor is light and spicy. A little fruity. Finishes with a mild bitterness. I thought this was rather bland actually.

750ml bottle from Bevmo Carmel Mountain. Brew poured a light amber color with a glowing orange tint. Slightly hazed as well. Had a nose of citrus fruits, banana, yeast and bread. Nice dry finish, a great domestically brewed Belgian!

Dry and yeasty with an axtra does of hops, this reminds me of an extra hoppy saison.

Bottle. Golden pour with a white head. Aroma is a little like a czech pilsner with some belgian yeast and american citrus / pine hops. The flavor is the same, and slightly herbal. For me, this blend of flavors doesn’t work.

Bottle. Thanks to my Santa for sending me this one because I had one bottle earlier in the year that was skunked and wanted to try this again. Poured a nice golden body with thin head. Aroma is light yeast, earthy. Flavor is light spices, earthy and very dry. A good warm weather beer.

50. Pours lightly hazy bright gold with a fluffy white head. Light body. Sweet fruit, citrus and bread aroma backed by herbal hops. Some nutty malt flavor comes through, along with citrus in the taste. Rather dry and lightly spicy finish. The pine bitterness builds as I sip.

Bottle from South Bay. Aroma is a little sour and dusty with some spiced dry peppery hop character. Fairly dry and grainy up front. A little Belgian yeast and dry hoppiness. Pretty full flavored yet subtle Belgian Ale.
