| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2007 On tap at NOTF. Pours a hazy golden with a nice white head and lace. Nose is slightly fruity with a whole lot of funk--horseblanket, vinegar, brett. Flavor is slightly sweet, but mainly funky and sour with a whole of different microflora thrown in. Have no idea what’s in it, but it’s very drinkable and tasty. Like Dickinsonbeer, I guess I expected this one to be more sour, though it certainly was funky! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2007 BBF 07. Pours a hazy deep coppery golden with a nice thin foamy head. Aroma is Sweet and sour citrus fruits, lacto, funky brett, modest amounts of wood and oak- light vanilla, orange peel, and plenty of horse/barn funk- even a hint of dstinky blue cheese. Good sour flavor, plenty of lacto tartness, and a bit prickly with acedic. Apple cider and apple skin, slight acetaldehyde with more citrus- pineapple brett funk. Good finihs, but I was expecting it to be more sour actually - didnt finish as dry as I thought either- maybe this beer needed more time in that funky barrell! kkearn (1003), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

I had actually tired this at the stone 11th and it was awesome, but it was even better at the brewey with some funky cheese. Deep goldden with good carbonation. Very funky aroma, the flavor was sour apple,v ery acidic. very drinkaqble if you like sours.. I wonder if you can get a growler of this? awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2007 On tap at the Patron Saint’s party. Pours a somewhay hazy, golden straw color with an even consistency and a finger of fizzy white foam. There’s almost a sulphury, eggy aroma that jumps out right away, but this dissipates as it warms. After that, a highly acetic wave of lemons, musty oak, and green apple skins. Light bodied, sharply acidic, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of musty oak and sour lemon acidity overwhelm the palate instantly. Very dry, with a cottonmouth oak finish. This actually reminds me a lot of Le Terroir, especially with the acidic character. Long into the finish, a little bit of herbal hops start to peek out, but their presence is very minimal.
