Oct 31, 2007 Updated: Oct 28, 2008(Draught) Pours a lighty hazy orange body with a small white head. Funky aroma of cheese, brett, oak, butterscotch, and mustiness. Flavor of oak barrel, funky, apple, some herbal qualities, and mild vinegar with nice acidity and a dry finish.

Nov 27, 2007 Sampled at the brewery on 11/9/07: Pours a hazy dark golden orange with a wispy white head. Complex oaky sweet and tart nose has some light fruity notes and a touch of toffee. Starts with good biscuity caramel and big tart oaky complexity toward a drier earthy cherry finish. An incredibly balanced, complex and enjoyable beer.

Nov 1, 2007 BBF 07. Pours a hazy deep coppery golden with a nice thin foamy head. Aroma is Sweet and sour citrus fruits, lacto, funky brett, modest amounts of wood and oak- light vanilla, orange peel, and plenty of horse/barn funk- even a hint of dstinky blue cheese. Good sour flavor, plenty of lacto tartness, and a bit prickly with acedic. Apple cider and apple skin, slight acetaldehyde with more citrus- pineapple brett funk. Good finihs, but I was expecting it to be more sour actually - didnt finish as dry as I thought either- maybe this beer needed more time in that funky barrell!

Sep 11, 2007 Updated: Oct 10, 20074th sample Stone Anniversary Fest XI. Funky Barrel, man was I excited to see this. Pours copper brown with a bright white ring head. The nose was beautiful with a whole of lot of sour vinegar funk. Taste was robust sweet, sour and vinegary. Great sour, reminds me a lot of Deschutes Firewood. After drinking another pint or 2 of this at Patron Saint’s Party I have to bump this up a bit.

Dec 21, 2007 Tap at Beachwood BBQ. Poured orange gold with some haze. Aroma up front is sour and tart with some musty notes as well as light tart fruit. Flavor is mouth puckering sour/tart up front with a nice dry finish. One can pick up nice fruity notes behind the alcohol as well as "funky" musty aspects as well. I am just getting into these sour beers, and this is a good one!

Sep 9, 2007 Tasted at Stone XI Party. Hazy golden amber with no head. Good strong sour apple and oak aroma. Slightly sour taste with a nice dry oaky finish. Excellent.

Dec 14, 2007 Draft at the brewery. Murky ornage with smallshi head. Lots of tartness on the aromas. More in the flavors. Cherry, grape, vinious and acidic. Very Very yummy
