Nose- brett is very noticable- earthiness from the brett, spice and sweet malts. Taste- a lot going on here- various spices and fruits, toasty malts, funky dryness and touch of sourness. Medium to thick body, no notice of boozy hotness however. A very unique beverage that I think really benefited from a year to dry out and let the brett work its magic. jasonp (1514), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Pours cloudy copper with a thick beige head. Nose of aged, dusty malt and floral hop leaves. Reminds me of a American barleywine mixed with a Belgian - lots of resinous hop/pine character. Fruity, citrusy, raisin, dates, then fueled by Belgian yeast character. Full on the palate for a Belgian-styled beer but not thick and clumbsy. Moderate carbonation level. Nice beer. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Brett and grapefruit aromas. Fruity brett and orange upfront with a crisp alcohol grapefruit finish. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Pale orange in colour with moderate carbonation and a bit of haze. Aromas of funk, christmas oranges, light bready malts, and various spices. Loads of complexity in the mouth with notes of floral orange, baking spices, sweet grasses, and very mild caramel. Drying and black peppery on the finish, with a bit of sour as well. Very interesting stuff, and quite drinkable for the abv. noncaloric (629), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Hazy amber-brown pour. Malty nose, not much else. Flavor is nutty malts, a little dark tea. Slightly tannic mouthfeel. Reading the other ratings here, I wonder whether the bartender cheated me and handed me an OK but unremarkable brown ale. ghawener (978), San Salvador, El Salvador

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Mohogany pour with a soft white head. Fruity nose of cherry and spice. Malty with a fairly bitter finish. Carbonation was softer, not really drying out much in the finish. Soft bready quality almost like fruitcake and a soft special B raisin character.
