Rich yeast and hops aroma, with a lot of citrus and peach notes. Taste of bitter hops, with sweeter peaches, spiced lemons, yeast, and a bit of an alcohol bite. Light lingering bitterness. Really tasty. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA

Fresh cut orange aroma, grain, pepper, slightly floral. Smells great. Real floral taste, alcohol apparent but well integrated. Grainy and floral and strong, it all works. djtimeless (180), Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2008 tons of biscuty malt notes..and a tiny amount of funk....though I find it a bit flat compared to the better biere de gardes that I have had......I think this one is a bit overrated IMO...though I do love most of the other seasonal LA beers TheCheeseMan (539), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Pours a rich amber color, with a thick and creamy head, that seems to hold on for dear life. The aroma is yeasty and spicy, with hints of caramel, dark fruit and bretty funk coming on strong. Flavor is redolent of the Holiday season, with candied fruits and sweet bread dough beginning the assault, which finishes very dry. Another absolute star from what is possibly my favorite brewer. ’07 version. Cloudy peach color. Bright Brett aroma. Dry with apricot skin and pith bitterness. Fine (as in grade) refined carbonation. Peach pith, skin, and fuzz. Lovely bitterness. Liked this better than the first bottle I had, upgraded rating. YUM.
Bottle, Merritt Island Throwdown. Deep orange hue, thick-looking with white haze sitting on top. Nose is baguette, cantaloupe, pear. Flavors are bready, banana. Some chalk/mineral. (3.8)

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2008 A cloudy, dark orange amber body is capped by a well retained, foamy, cream colored head. Nice patches of lacing decorate the glass well. The nose shows a light caramel malt base with notes of coriander, nutmeg, candied orange peel, and a dry, mildly bretty funk. The flavor shows sweet, bready, yeasty notes up front. A good amount of earthy and spicy floral hop character comes through, teaming with the mild brett to add bitterness. Candied citrus and nectarines bring a sweet fruitiness. The mouthfeel is creamy, and ore substantial than expected. Finishes moderately dry and slightly spicy. There’s alot going on here. Another mighty fine brew from Lost Abbey. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Courtesy Beerlando. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Smells of big orange citrus and some malts. Possibly some oak in there as well. I noticed some big alcohol right away. Alot of sweet bitter malts to go along with some funky citrus fruit. Pretty good brew, maybe a touch to sharp on its bitterness profile, but other than that its a unique take on this style. Not as much funk as I was expecting, but interesting nonetheless.
