Commercial Description:
And so the Three Wise Men set out from the East bearing gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Along the Way, they follwoed a bright light. The Bible neglects to mention if they brought beer or not. Who goes crossing the desert without beer? How smart are we to believe these wise men were? Since Christmas is the season of gift giving more than receiving, please be a giver and share the Wisdom found in each and every bottle of our Gift of the Magi.

Bottle at Nørrebro Bryghus. Pours cloudy amber with a beige head. Aroma is quite fruity with notes of caramel, spice and malt. Flavour is spice, hops and weak notes of malt and alcohol. It has a slightly bitter aftertaste.

My Bottom Line:
Kaleidoscopic spice colours confound the tastebuds, taking them to cinnamon, nutmeg, grains of paradise and even rye-like hallucinations as herbal hops dry out the finish of this classy Christmas libation.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam slowly sinks in this shiny deep amber-red.
-Yeast presence is quite doughy throughout.
-There is lots of tiny bubbling, making this spicy concoction a sparkling, celebratory brew.
-Light caramel sweetness is present, but quickly disappears into the dry, hop bitter finish.

Bottles.

(Rating #2399)

Bottle@Home. Leather and orange aroma. Cloudy, amber colour, off-white head, good lace. Sweetish, bitter, funky, leather, grapefruit, orange. Full bodied. Impressive, flavourful, powerful, complex.

Bottle at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. Pours a hazy apricot color with a thin white head. Nice bretty funk, with dry wood notes. Malty flavors, the funk doesn’t really translate into the flavors as much as one would expect. Finishes tart and dry.

Bottle. Hazy amber body with a small off white head. Spicy and bit tart fruity aroma of caramel, earthy like thing and some brett. Light sour flavour with lots of fruit (fresh and dried) and spices. Very dry body. Hard to put a finger on the excact flavours but I liked it.

Pours amber to copper with little tan head. The alchohol is present with some caramel, dark fruits, a bit of burnt nuts. A bit sweet with some spices. Not bad.

On tap at Lost Abbey. Pour was darker than your normal Belgian Pale. Smell was something I couldnt put a finger on. Smelled some pepper and nectarine. Taste was really interesting. Was not what I expected. M
