Sep 12, 2008 Updated: Sep 13, 2008golden in color with an average sized off white head with minimal lacing. The aroma is of hay, spices, apples, yeast and cedar. The flavor is of apples, spices and hay with a strong overtone of yeast-slightly like a hefferwizen. The second half of the bottle was much yeastier than the first. The texture was syrupy. I’d say it’s a good belgian ale with a good flavor and a good kick, but not quite my style.

Sep 11, 2008 750ml bottle. A bready belgian yeast aroma. Gold body with white head. Had a fruity peach flavor along with some dry rye bitter. Left the palate little dry.

Sep 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very hazy golden straw, fluffy white head, and creamy wet lacing. Straw nose, chalk, wheat, and slight barnyard. Flavors of tasty wheat and straw, grainy chalk, sweet fruit. Medium-bodied, very drinkable and tasty.

Sep 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a white head. The aroma is spicy and a bit sweet, almost peppery in its spicyness, but not quite. Dry mouthfeel, with spices, some fruit, and flowery or earthy hops. Nice.

Sep 8, 2008 750, corked and baled. Another LA delight. Pours a cloudy, toffeeish medium amber with a towering, fizzy platinum blonde head that lasts and lasts, leaving thick sheets of woolly lace. Mild, dusty, slightly green apple-y nose. Not so impressive up top, really, and this beer’s been out of the fridge for coming up on 20 minutes. Plenty of time to blossom. Creamy medium body with firm, refreshing carb. Resiny bitterness on the mid-palate that flows through to the finish. Joined by slight lemon and caramel notes. Doesn’t have a hell of an individualistic identity as a crisp belgian farmhouse ale, but what’s there is delicious and drinkable. Hides the 8.5% extremely well--don’t let this "BSA" listing nonsense fool you, either, btw. This is a great big saison.

Sep 6, 2008 Amazing banana/clove yeast funk in both aroma and taste, though kept in check and mild. Golden and crisp, perfect carbonation. Not the most complex Belgian Strong ale, but perfectly made and very enjoyable. Simple yet excellent.

Sep 4, 2008 Pours a beautiful gold, with a classic Belgian head. Remarkably full aroma, with strong citrus notes, apple and baking spices (would complement apple pie wonderfully). A bit hot (appropriately, I guess), with yeast, hops, lots of spices and a very smooth, dry finish - just a bit tart. This one is incredibly drinkable.

Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of citrus fruits, maybe some apple, melon, light spices, zestiness. Flavor moderately sweet with enough balancing hops and an ever-so-subtle tartness. Quite easy drinking, a very nice brew.
