75 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA via Chicago. Hazy light golden colour. Clove, pepper and citrus aroma with some earthy background. Bright flavor, bread and lemon, with an increasingly peppery finish.

Dec 21, 2009 From bottle@RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. A thin offwhite head over a foggy, deep gold colored body. Citrus-fruity nose, with yeast notes and a distinct caramelly scent. Taste is more fruity than malty, weii-bodied, and fairly dry. Some fruity acidty in the finish.

Dec 20, 2009 Pours gold with a nice white head. Fruity sweet nose. Flavor is full of spice, yeast, sweetened citrus and good amount of dough. Nice body with a touch of alcohol warmth. Finish has a touch of toast to it.

Dec 19, 2009 Hazy golden color. Lot of barnyard, hay, lemon, barnyard in the nose. Moderate carbonation, hay, oranges, cob webs, earthy mouth. Fairly hoppy. Lightly carbonated. Excellent Belgian farmhouse beer and my favorite Flat Abbey beer.

Dec 17, 2009 750ml bottle from the lost abbey tasting room. pours a bright, golden yellow with a huge, fluffy white head and great lacing. aroms is great with slightly sweet, doughy malts, vanilla, brett funk, grass and band-aid with fruit notes of orange, lemon zest, and peach. flavor is excellent as well with strong, orchard fruit notes of apple and pear with tart notes of lemon and orange with hints of spice and dry malts. palate is medium bodied with big carbonation and a very dry, bitter, yet fruity finish. overall, another winner from lost abbey.

Dec 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours a pale golden liquid with a huge, white head. Aroma is fruity and spicy in a typically Belgian way, with a lot of yeast and citrus notes. Taste is very spicy and fruity with some sweetness and acidity, notes of lemon, bitter herbs, yeast and spices. Nice.

Dec 4, 2009 Pours a bright light golden color, slightly hazy with a creamy white head that leaves tons of lacing. Very complex nose, spicy, reminds me of Christmas smells. Taste is also spicy and citrus, a bit heavy, but great beer.

Dec 3, 2009 The beer pours out a bright light golden body, lightly hazy with a thick creamy white head. Light carbonation bubbles streaming up from the bottom and nice lacing left behind. Aroma is rather soapy with cloves, bubblegum and hay notes. Also some light dried apricots getting detected. The palate notes are sweet citrus oil, peppery, hay, light apple juice, cloves with a toasted bread-like finish. Very nice.

Nov 28, 2009 Updated: Dec 15, 2009Bottle. Hazy golden color with an enormous white head that leaves a lot of lacings (apparently, this brewery can do carbonated beers after all).
The smell is nice but fairly simple: Light malts, citric fruit esters, mild spices and yeast.
The flavor is fairly sweet with notes of white bread, spices, earthy yeast and fruit esters. Unfortunately, I don’t think the yeast profile nor the fruit aromas are as complex as some of the better Belgian pale strong ales I’ve had. The finish is mildly bitter with sweet oily alcohol notes, mild spices and a hint of wood.
Medium body with quite a lively mouthfeel. A bit too sticky in the finish due to the alcohol.
A good solid interpretation of an enjoyable Belgian beer style. However, since I don’t think it adds something new to the table, it mostly comes out as a a copy.
