Very grateful to have this bottle. Thank you Sparky27. Pours a fairly flat hazy yellow cidery color. Some bubbles form while it is pouring but retention is pour. The thinnest trace of bubbles and some scant carbonation remain but it is low. Could smell the funkiness while I was pouring this. First thing that comes to mind while inhaling is lemon meringue pie. Vanilla icing also noted with a traditional Gueuze backdrop. It’s scary/impressive how similar this is to a traditional Gueuze. Huge brett, horse, funk, barnyard/cobweb/cider aroma accompanied by that lemon cake aroma that actually embellishes the normal lambic aroma. Acidity detectable even in the aroma. This is going to be sour, I know it. Absolutely stunning aroma. Taste is more in the traditional Gueuze territory. Sour, perhaps not as excruciatingly as I expected, tart and relatively soft. Acidic and dry with a tart finish. The taste is not as mind blowing as the aroma but it is still quite amazing how close this comes to a quality Gueuze. I think this beer will develop for a long time. How I wish I had another bottle.

750 mL bottle courtesy of jjpm74. Thanks, John, for this, my 1000th rating! Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with a thin white head and good head retention and lacing. The aroma is apple, lemom, butterscotch, funk, pear, wood, stone fruits. Very dry and slightly tart taste of funk, green apple, pear and butterscotch. Full bodied with strong but delicate carbonation. Very nice beer.

Bottle (c&c) shared by Marcus. Hazy peachy gold color. Light sour peach aroma. Medium body with sparkling carbonation. Lightly sour peach flavors. Finish is fruity, and the sour tends to diminish. Goes mellow. Just complexly, complicatedly delicious. Surprising burst of flavor in the dregs.

Bottle. I had such high expectations for this beer...and yes, it matched and probably beat them. Trade whatever you can to get a hold of this beer. Pours yellow with a thin head. Just really great sour flavor that is still somehow mellow and incredibly easy to drink. All sorts of funky sour fruit flavors. I really wished it was easier to make this type of beer in bulk because I wish I had a lot more of it.

Pours bright, clear yellow-orange with a small head made of tiny white bubbles. Faint perfume nose of sour banana and peaches. Wicked sour apple, pomegrante, cherry taste. Takes a mellower, bretty cheese/buttery turn with some toasted sourdough. It gets you right between the jaw and ear. Yummy.

Bottle. Good balanced funk, peaches and brett with light lacto sourness. Cloudy bright yellow with thin hazy head. Light bubbly lacing. Huge deep sourness opens up into fruit flavors of cherry, peach, orange, and grapefruit. The sourness is piercing and pungent but somehow balanced. Very dry palate with nice texture. Deep and enjoyable.

Fobab VI. Bottle. With all of the excitement and the rush that went towards this one, I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed. Not bad at all, but like I said... Pours pale and cloudy, nose is awesome, lots of florals and tartness, plums, apricots, et al. A touch of vanilla/wood as well. On first taste it’s a very soft sour with a fair amount of graininess and bitterness. Where it fails is that the taste just ends. It doesn’t continue, it doesn’t dry out, it just goes away. To me, this is not akin to a lambic, but what do I know. I just know it left me yearning more...
