| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Mandarine and lemon groves grow alongside oaken dryness until juicy sourness soars to the very end of this captivating, funky Sour Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A circle of foam stays atop the dark golden sunshine.
-Although the lambic allusions are just, the finish didn’t feel as dry as many examples of the style (Girardin, Drie Fonteinen, for example).
-Carbonation is prickly, which makes for easy drinking despite the gripping sourness.
-This is amazingly authentic; with such contributors to its recipe and conditioning, I was not expecting any less, to be honest.
Bottle; many thanks Dany!! marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 3, 2008 This pale golden ale poured with a thin off-white head and a sour fruit and oak aroma. There is a delicious, delicate and complex flavor that is yeasty and fruity, tart yet sweet, and a little malty. The mouthfeel is dry and carbonated. If you put some of the best brewmasters in the world into the same room, this is what you get. Theis (3740), Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 29, 2008 25 oz bottle, shared by kmweaver. Pours a hazy pale gold body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is very funky with pixie stick sugariness, oak, eggs, and stinky cheese. Lighter lemon rind and pineapple. Great dry, just slightly puckering acidity, lots of funky cheesey and oak notes. Not bone dry, but on the drier side. The mouthfeel is suficiently puckering with perfect pinpiont fizzy carbonation. Longe lingering finish. This is about as good of an American attempt at a Gueuze can get. Delicious. GodOfThunder (864), Orlando, Florida, USA

The taste is extra tart with lemon and citrus elements and a little vanilla. This is an amazing brew and certainly worth all of the hype. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Big thanks to the CheeseMan for bringing this to the mcbackus tasting. Pours hazy deep gold and almost no head. The aroma hits with sour Brett but with mild malt and fruitiness not far behind. The aroma is Brett heavy but not to the level where it forces you to pull your nose away due to stinging tartness. The taste starts first with puckering tartness rolling into acidic lemon and hints of citrus. Like the aroma the taste is solid Brett but not over the top. It carries notes other than full tartness like faint fruitiness and faint malt adding interest and making for a more pleasurable experience. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Poured a hazy orange yellow color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, citrus, leather, wild yeast, hay, pineapple, and oak. Taste of vanilla, toffee malts, oak, tart green grapes, some green apple, horsey brett, various types of bacteria, and a sour finish. Thanks to John for sharing this! badbeer (433), Iowa, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Orange-ish yellow color with a white head that quickly dissipates, leaving no lacing on the glass. Musty hay, honey, pineapple, and some barnyard aromas, though this one seems to be more on the citrusy side. Taste begins with some barnyard and strong citrus tartness, though it leans more towards the oak as taste carries on. Dry finish, light body, and medium carbonation.
