Golden amber in colour, thin but long lasting white head, light lacing. Aroma is quite acidic and sour, lemon, leather, citrus, lots of Brett. Flavour is bretty, high acidic, citrus, vinegar, oranges, woody, cheese. Sour mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, acidic, bretty.

Unbelieveable stuff, easily the best sour from this side of the Atlantic. Excellent balance, immense drinkability. Amazing.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheEpeeist, thanks Chris.
Opened on January 5, 2009.
Vintage 2008.

The bottle looks really, really good, the beer in the glass also, gold-yellow, modest cloudy, small but creamy head. Sourish aroma. Also starts quite sourish, sharp fruity notes of lemon, a bit salty, woody, notes of peach. Very well balanced. Intense sourish till the end. Very good beer! Big thanks to giarcsr for the bottle!

Having this one celebrating my goal of averaging one new, different beer every day for a year. This, number 365, will pit me at that goal 2 months early. Thanks especially to Scott at BA for giving me this one through a trade, and to the folks that participated in the Pittsburgh RB gathering, who helped me along to this goal. So yeah, Isabelle! Look loses a little due to lack of head, but gains because of how thick it looks. Carbonation is present and contributes to the thick presentation. Scent is pungent, sour, peach, and my mouth is watering. Taste is ..wow. I know there is a lot of hype behind this beer, but I’ll be damned, this is worthy. Puckering sourness blends well with a fruity and citrus sweetness. Wood and funk make an appearance, but the leather presence is subtle. Mouth is just right. I blame the lack of head on my ultra conservative pour more than anything.

Cloudy blond color; poor head retention. Wonderful aroma, combination of Brett, vanilla, peach; lemony and sour, cobwebs; even a shade of sweet nuts. Lean body; it has a lemon flavor, woody and astringent, with cellar notes. The final is more sharply astringent and showing the acid side. Wonderful.

Bottle. Rating number one thousand. I’ve been waiting anxiously to crack into this one for months since it first arrived courtesy of the ever so generous, and ever so awesome tytoanderso. Big thanks to Ty on this. Pours a gorgeous golden straw color with a thin to medium sized bone white head. At first it appears that there are little tiny floaties, but instead they are some of the finest tiny little bubbles I have seen in a beer. The carbonation on this is perfect. The aromas are also wonderful. Subtle and refined. Soft oak, hay, light bretty funk, sweet gentle lemon. Everything is harmonious, delicate, and remarkably balanced. Mouthfeel is gentle, with the small minute bubbles providing some lively play on the tounge. Oak, brett, hay, citrus. I keep going back to bread and cheese to cleanse the palate a bit so I can discover the flavors anew each time. The finish is long and gently tart with some light wood. This was absolutely wonderful, and I’m quite glad I was a hedonistic glutton and had the entire bottle to myself. Outstanding stuff.

On tap at Stone Sourfest 09. Hazy yellow pour. Great lacing. Aroma is funky, nice cheese, and some bit time citrus. Flavor was tart, acidic, lemony, and some solid oak as well.

Hazy yelllow with a small white head that leaves quite amazing lazework on the wineglass used. Aroma is extremely funky, cheesy and complex with notes of lemon, oranges, grapefruit and other exotic fruit. Flavour is juicy, acidic, barnyardy and very close to a good belgian gueuze but more exotic, fruity and kind. The beer finishes dry, vinous and acidic with notes of oak and bluecheese alongside sliiightly sweet berries. Fantastic beer to say the least.

rom the First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting, thanks to Devon. slightly hazy golden pour. Aroma is sweet, slightly cheasy, vanilla, oak. Highly acidic up front, lemony, green grapes, tart apple, nice tannic woodiness. The acidity is a little harsh.
