Bottle shared by JoeMcPhee. Nice. Pour is a pretty yellow orange, a decent head. Aroma is loaded with barnyard, sour funk, a bit of lemon, mushroom, chalk, sushi. Mmm. Flavor is a sour bomb, though a bit thin in body, with plenty of funky peach, cucumber, kim chee, and just straight out awesome sourness. This is the closest to lambic American beer I’ve ever had. I hope this one ages well.

750 ml bottle courtesy of FlacoAlto - Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a faint head. Very light lacing. Aroma is esters, oak, and brett. Flavor is much of the same. Palate is tart, but lively. A smooth, dry, medium body beer. Very nice. Thanks Sebastian.

re-tried st pats day 2009. Wanted to check back in with this. 750ml bottle in the refridge since release. I think this hampered it’s progression. Too cold for the yeasts to do anything. Not much complexity improvement. Funk / sour is maintaining and oak tannin loosening a bit. Just not as complex as I had hoped. And thinking it was the too cold environment I’ve kept this in. Other bottles are in a warmer place so still holding out hope this can be a classic. Lots of upside, had this at the release, it needs time. Oak / wood tannins are strong. Great balanced and flavorful sour. Sometimes they just taste sour, this has intensity and debth that is very rare. Lots of yeast and sediment in the bottle. I have several more and it’s probably time to take a crack at another bottle. From release I said this could be the best beer I’ve ever had in 5 years time.

Holy crap, xmarcnolanx outdid himself by sharing this amazing gem of a beer. Pours hazy orange with a light white head. The aroma has lots of lactic souness, wild funky yeast, horseblanket and smooth orange / grapefruit citrus. Medium / thin body with sharp carbonation that’s underscored. The flavor starts with lots of sour citrus, lactic acid, sharp sour traits and some spice. This is a very complex beer with the nuances of sourness. The finish is very sharp and harsh in a beautiful way. I love this beer.

750 mL bottle. Poured a hazy gold color with a three finger white head. The aroma was a citrus and a dank wet note. The flavor was really sour, but had a smooth finish. I’m not really wild about this beer, but can understand all of the nuances that make it a top rated one.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy pale golden with a white head. Fat Brett aroma with notes of sweaty horse blanket. Medium body with lots of Brett, citrus and vinegar accents. Dry and tart finish. Quite refreshing. 100908

Compliments of Tomme A. during his presentation at the SD Quaff meeting. Pours a hazy gold hue with a creamy white head and nice lacing. Complex aromas open to notes of citrusy funk and yeast. Flavor had undercurrents of creamy herbal peach, toasted oak, and hints of stinky cheese. The taste of the bretty funk and yeast balances on dense sour lemony citric and lactic vanilla wood-like tones. Full bodied and smooth, prickly carbonation with an insane sour funked finish. Thanks for the slide show and the great information!

Bottle. Amber beer with a whitish head. Sour, acetic, woodsy aroma. Acetic, sour flavor with backing sweet malts and some fruitiness. Medium body. Acetis, sour, and woodsiness lingers. Nice complexity - not as one dimentional as many gueze - there’s a bit of sweetness or something, possible a spirit barrel-aged note that keeps it from being great. The problem is, since I couldn’t put my finger on it, I kept focusing on it as an off-flavor.
