Jul 23, 2009 Stone Sour Fest. Hazy pale amber with a white head that just disappeared. Nose is a deep sweet, with yeast, red grapes. Sharp flat bounce of tart in the mouth. Smack. Grapefruit and lemon-citrus. Dry.

Cloudy orange color. Acidic sour apple aroma. Thin palate and quite sour with some acidic citrus to it.

Jul 22, 2009 Draft at Stone Sour Fest 2009. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with minimal head. Aroma is sour with some funk/barnyard and a little citrus. Flavor has more barnyard/leather as well as citrus (lemon and grapefruit). Quite sour but also very drinkable. I’m still learning to appreciate sours (hence going to the festival), but I felt that this was an excellent example of the sour.

Jul 16, 2009 Pours a pastel orange with a small, dense head. Aroma is very tarty, tangy, fruity, with orange juice concentrate, white wine. Flavor is of sweet lemon/lime juice concentrate, acidic unripe berries, funk finish. A lot of flavor, no doubt. Pretty creamy mouthfeel for a sour. I can dig it alright, but I can see why the sourheads worship this even more. Overall, very good minus.

Jul 16, 2009 Thanks to golubj I finally got to try this, thanks a lot Jon. Color is thick straw gold. The beer is a composite of tart hay and aggressive lemon brett. Its very tart and has lots of lemon in the finish. There is a little bit of nail polish that gets in the way. Its very little, if I did not have the Duck Duck Gooze to compare to I may have overlooked it. But that is what separates these two brews.

Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity tart citrus aroma with some hints of oak. Fruity tart sour funky flavor with hints of citrus. Has a fruity and slightly tasrt sour citrus finish. Very nice one!

Jul 14, 2009 Bottle. Very nice blond pour. Citric and tart aroma. Flavor is very nice sour, crisp and clean, not much funk. Good fruit underneath.

Jul 7, 2009 Figured it was about time to dig this one out of the cellar, and much thanks to Zathrus13 for it being there in the first place. The initial pour is a slightly hazy golden orange color with a small slightly off white head. Aroma is complex with vinous earthy notes, oak, brett, citrus and some slight fruit notes of granny smith apples, and light peach. Taste is very complex, lots going on here, sour fruit notes mostly granny smith apples tart peaches and some cherry,oak, lots of earthy notes, most noticeably leather, wood, and some funk. Truly an impressive beer and I’d have to say worth the hype. Very well done, and thank you again Jeff!
