The aroma is of tangy sour cream with a pleasant oak character. The flavor is very lactic and cheesy, with a great oak tannin character. The beer clinches the back of my throat when a swallow. Very sour. Medium/light body with a nice amount of carbonation. I was expecting this to be very over carbonated. Overall this is really good and among some of the best sours I’ve tried. faroeviking (6025), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

A lot of ’100’ beers benefit more from hype than actual quality, in my opinion. While these beers are, for the most part, very tasty and delicious brews, they are not worth such a lofty percentile designation. This beer, however, is not one of them. Isabella Proximus is, to be blunt, AWESOME. Drinking this beer is more like reading a fine novel or listening to your favorite CD. As I tasted this heavenly brew, I was transported back in time to PaPa Scott’s Crystal Beach, TX beach cabin. The smell of the freshly cleaned wooden floored eminated from the beer that sat calmly and content in my Duvel tulip glass. A thick, cloudy, sharp cheddar yellow body- like liquid mac and chese- was reminiscent of the dark hallways slightly illuminated by the afternoon sun forcing its beams into a side room in the cabin. The slight carbonation fizz in the glass was a doppleganger for the soft sound of pounding waves in the distance. Tasting this beverage one is immediately treated to a rush of lemon coconut flavored tanning oil- sounds disgusting, but it works. The tingly and assertive mouthfeel was feet melting into the wet sand along the shoreline. This isn’t a beer- it’s a mental time machine. Incredible. Defreni (1001), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Bottle: Outstanding aroma that consists of apple, lemon/lime, apricot, and the slightest hint of cleaner (may sound like an "off" aroma, but it worked for me). It pours a cloudy dull yellow with a small white head. The flavor starts faintly sweet with a hint of lime. It quickly turns to big sour lemon in the finish with some light citrus notes and a hint of oak. Light-medium bodied with soft carbonation. Definitely the best beer at the tasting. kiefdog (1588), Tampa, Florida, USA

Finally because of Seabass’ generosity, I am able to try this unicorn beer. Pours a hazy golden color with thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of honey, spice, bread, yeast, brett, vinegar, some hints of citrus and overripe fruit. Flavor is sour and floral with notes of caramel, yeast, barnyard funk, brett, wood, overripe berries. Generally medium body with a sour, tart finish. Interesting ale. Probably one of the better sour ales I’ve had. mcbackus (741), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
