Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

0.75l - Dark brown liquid under massive, light tan head. Lacing throughout. Raisins and cherry nose. Cherry jam and cooked pasta on palate, with a persistent sourness throughout. This was good.

750 ml bottle I picked up in Idaho. Poured dark caramel with a thin tan head and minimal lacing. Aroma is full of brown sugar, figs, raisins, candi sugar and caramel. Flavor is very malty with caramel, a prominent raisin and fig mix and some light sugar. Not my favorite beer in this style, but a solid brew all the same. Beautiful label as usual from LA.

Dark caramel color with a small head. Rich body as it pours. Aroma is sweet with some fruit and a hint of spice. Flavor is sweet, caramel, toffee, raisins and butter. A little spice. Not bad.

750 bottle. Did I sit on it too long? Is a year too old? I was looking forward to this gem in my closet, and shared it proudly, only to see my own disappointment mirrored on the faces of those who joined me in the moment. Murky in the glass. Hints of sweetness and spiciness on the nose. Those hints evaporated on the taste buds. Taste was fruit, candy, malt, and spces, but in a cacophony of flavors that completely missed any harmony. We each had a few ounces and drainpoured the rest. Bummer Parker.

Nose is complex w/ raisins, slight esters, and hints of caramel, alcohol, and anise. Hardly any of this delivers, though, in a weak flavor LIGHTLY lined with fruits and hotness... I wrote this on a piece of paper for later entry and my girlfriend added "and tastes like poop" to the end... you be the judge.

Bottle at BCTC 2009: Murky brownish copper with a tan film of head. Malt aroma with apparent raisin, toasted cocoa and peppery phenolics. Fluffy feel on the palate with a dry flavor. Peppery yeast phenols with some tartish green raisn notes and mild fig sweetness that drowns out that dry yeast character. A decent interpretation of the style.

BCTC. Pours a murky brown with a thin beige head. Caramel and malt on the nose. Deep malty flavors with some nice crisp fruit notes. I liked the barrel aged version of this (Amazing Grace) but this one is still pretty good.

Bottle Compliments of the High and Mighty Drbayern, shared with the Cleaver Celticbrew, Uncle Steve and our beer pimp Brian! Poured a dirty brown, cloudy. there was no head to speak of but some edge lacing. The aroma was malty, and the flavor was malty with some hints of fruity chocolate. It was OK but not great!
