9/19/2008: Lost Abbey Lost & Found pours a hazy, golden borwn color with a tan head. The aroma has caramel, slight fruit and spice and the flavor is malty, fruity, and quite yeasty with some brown sugar in the middle and raisin in the finish. No alcohol can be detected. It has a medium to medium-full body, a smoot texture, and creamy mouthfeel. Overall this is a very good beer!

1 pint 9.4 fl. oz. corked and caged bottle (Alc. 8.0% by Vol.). Rating #426 for this beer.

Bottle compliments of DrBayern (thanks Matt). Poured a lively reddish brown, hazy with off beige foamy head. Aroma evident of raisins, malts and spices. Flavour was full bodied, raisins, malts, rock candies and spices. Fathers smooth, yet sweet. A decent dubbel, but I was expecting a little more from the brewer.

Dark copper/red/brown with an enormous head that took forever to settle, as if it were just testing my petience. Solid retention and very nice lacing. Dark fruits like raising, plums, and figs dominate the aroma, supported by candy sugar and yeast. Flavors are similar - a very pleasant sweetness with a certain fruit tartness and a spiciness characteristic of the style. Medium body, high level of carbonation, very smooth mouthfeel, and the sweetness of the aftertaste is accompanied by a wonderful warming alcohol presence. I really enjoyed this.

750 ml bottle from Binnys shared with a friend. Pours a largely transparent dark copper, bubbly offwhite head that quickly dissipates to a small level, laces minimally. Aromas are pear, apple, caramel, and belgian yeast, lighter but fruity with a bit darker malts with nominal sweetness. Touch of brown sugar, cinnamon. Almost a bit soo sweet. Initial shows a bit bitter, Belgian malts mix with malty sweetness, raisin, bitterness. A bit one dimensional belgian-wise. Green apple, pear fruit come in with decent carbonation, moderate body, a bit of spice. Overall, a decent Belgian that throws heavy apple ane pear notes in the aftertaste.. Nothing special overall. Decent enough though.

Draught at the brewery. Brown with a tan head. Fruity, almost tart berry aroma with some light caramel as well. Dry and vinous flavor witha light fruity tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with lots of carbonation. This was a big surprise, a lean, dry, tart dubbel. I could have drank a lot more of this.

Received a bottle of this from hannont" about a year and just opened it. Colour... dark brown with a garnet hue when held to the light. Nose... grain, yeast, brown sugar, some dark fruits. Palate... plenty of carbonation to start, followed by figs, raisins, dates and brown sugar. A fairly lengthy finish with the afore mentioned flavours lingering nicely. Good stuff!
