750 ml bottle from Binnys shared with a friend. Pours a largely transparent dark copper, bubbly offwhite head that quickly dissipates to a small level, laces minimally. Aromas are pear, apple, caramel, and belgian yeast, lighter but fruity with a bit darker malts with nominal sweetness. Touch of brown sugar, cinnamon. Almost a bit soo sweet. Initial shows a bit bitter, Belgian malts mix with malty sweetness, raisin, bitterness. A bit one dimensional belgian-wise. Green apple, pear fruit come in with decent carbonation, moderate body, a bit of spice. Overall, a decent Belgian that throws heavy apple ane pear notes in the aftertaste.. Nothing special overall. Decent enough though.

Jul 21, 2009 bottle, pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Carmel malt, some booze, spicy aroma. Sweet toasted malt, caramel, and booze. Lovely yeast ester finish. Great brew.

Jul 9, 2009 Draught at the brewery. Brown with a tan head. Fruity, almost tart berry aroma with some light caramel as well. Dry and vinous flavor witha light fruity tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with lots of carbonation. This was a big surprise, a lean, dry, tart dubbel. I could have drank a lot more of this.

hannont" about a year and just opened it. Colour... dark brown with a garnet hue when held to the light. Nose... grain, yeast, brown sugar, some dark fruits. Palate... plenty of carbonation to start, followed by figs, raisins, dates and brown sugar. A fairly lengthy finish with the afore mentioned flavours lingering nicely. Good stuff!

Jun 23, 2009 Sampled before, but this time from a bottle at Made in the Shade 2009. Pours a deep burgundy brown/purple. Very fizzy, huge white head. Taste is complex raisins and Belgian yeast character. A little too bubbly and raisiny for me, but pretty good.

Jun 21, 2009 Drank it at Ramenen’s beer festival. The last of the afternoon therefore memory is a bit short. Nice sweetness a perfect dessert beer.
