Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Large brown head, good retention and a nice lace. Brown color with a light red glow. Nose of caramel, raisins, light buttery notes with some faint citrus as well. Body is medium with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation, nice. Medium sweet malt flavors, caramel, raisiny, fruity, earthy woodsy notes. Finish is dry and fruity. A decent Dubbel. Thanks to FlacoAlto for this one.

Bottle from Dirty Martini. Murky, brown body with a medium sized, off-white head. The aroma is dark fruit, berry, caramel and banana. The flavor is lightly sweet, ripe bananas, plums and candi sugar. Medium body is very soft, moderate carbonation, drying finish. Nice.

Bottled sample. Nice copper color to this one, with lots of carbonation. Sweet, with plenty of dark fruit and malt, very sweet on the lips. very nice drinker, alcohol is well hidden. By trying this beer, I’ll return to rating this style more, as I enjoy it alot!

Bottle sampled on 12/2/06: Pours a transparent deep copper with an airy, light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark biscuity Belgian malt with some toasty caramel and authentic yeasty character. Sweet, dark caramely malty flavor has nice complexity and a full bready body. Well-balanced, very authentic and enjoyable.

soft raisins and plums nose with a bit of molasses and candi sugar. White pepper dances with dark cognac soaked fruits and a touch of nuts on the palate. Nice ripe fruit and spice finish.
