Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

This beer features a beautifully rich maltiness that is like sticking your head into a bin of caramel malts. There is a good bit of yeast fruitiness, a good bit of melon and maybe a bit of cooked carrot. Balanced with hop bitterness, but the bitterness is a bit self-effacing.

Thick muddy brown color with an offwhite head that clears after a couple of minutes. Smells of yeast and caramel. Taste up front is of malt and caramel. The alcoholic finish is a little abrupt and dis orienting. Big ups to realale 420 for the trade.

Blind rating at sk8viking´s. Pours a brown hazy with an off-white head. Smells of alcohol. Quite sweet with caramel flavors. Also yeast notes and spicy/grassy hints. High carbonation. Long sweet caramel finish.

Bottled. An unclear orange-brown beer with a rim of orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with quite strong notes of hops, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of spices, straw, and hops. Not very Belgian.

Aroma is raisins/figs/dark dried fruits, subtle bubble gum, clove and pepper. Quite complex and rich, the malt dominates. Appearance is ruby in color with a thin halo of bubbles that persists for longer than a minute. Not the billowy foam I’d find on most dubbels. Flavor is rich, roasty, bready, caramel, raisins, figs, liquorice, spicy & malt focused. Back end spicy noble hop flavor can be found, but is really subtle. Sweetness/bitterness is well balanced. Overall malt focused with a nice estery/phenolic balance found through a great fermentation. Mouthfeel is peppery with medium-high carbonation. Mild carbonic bite and a clean, dry finish. Overall, this is really impressive and I will drink it again and again. It really hits the marks for a Beglain style Dubbel. Flame deleted :P
