Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

750 ml bottle bought in Grand Junction, CO at College Liquors. Pours a dark red-brown color with a small white head. The aroma is fruity; some sweet fruit notes, light nutty notes and some yeast. The flavor is very fruity, sweeter fruit notes, some dark fruit and raisin flavors, yeast, light tartness, and a smooth but disappointingly light mouthfeel. A nice beer for sure. And of course, a cool label.

Sampled at the Tomme Arthur/Lost Abbey Beer Dinner at Chandler Whole Foods. Pours an opaque brownish amber with a tan head. Nose is raisins, figs, brown sugar and alcohol. Palate is yeasty with dark fruits, caramel and malts with a dry alcohol hop finish. Medium mouth feel. Paired with ancho chili rubbed pork tenderloin.

From a caged corked 750 ml. bottle with a blurb on the back label, no bottling/freshness date, sampled at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Poured a reddish dubbel brown with a fluffy, foamy pale tan head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of laced sticking. Aromas of clove, banana and bubblegum, chocolate covered caramel, sugary, and a light dark fruitiness. Good moderate carbonation and a crisp, dryish, velvety smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Delicious dubbel taste, clove, a light banana bubble gum, dark, brown candied sugar, roasted chocolate malts with a touch of caramel toffee, a subtle raisin, figs fruitiness, a light bready graininess, a very slight alcohol flavor towards the end, the alcohol is also slowly warming in the palate, and a dry, yeasty, spicy, semi-sweet malty finish. An excellent dubbel, easy, smooth drinkability, actually dangerously quaffable, a must try.

750ml bottle(Patrons & Saints Club)-Pours a murky amber body with a small ring for a head. Aroma of fruit, sweetness, and yeast. Taste of the same with a nice balance of flavors. This medium to full bodied brew is quite tasty and another good brew from Lost Abbey.

(on bottle) Red, somewhat murky, small, white head.. Huge esterish nose; peach, liquorice, abricot, strawberry; the fruits gets dominating. Perfect carbonation. At first the caramels are in front, but the alcohol blends figs and toast very nicely into it all.

Bottled sample. Nice copper color to this one, with lots of carbonation. Sweet, with plenty of dark fruit and malt, very sweet on the lips. very nice drinker, alcohol is well hidden. By trying this beer, I’ll return to rating this style more, as I enjoy it alot!

pours a rather unappealing cloudy dark brown color with some touches of burgundy. it’s got a soft creamy tan cap which fades a whole lot quicker than i anticipated. almost metallic super malty aroma with notes of yeast, the sweetness from dried fruits, black and golden raisins, sugar cane and some spiciness. it’s quite malty and fruity yet dry on the palate... wood, brown sugar (without the sweet), yeast astringency, spice, some tannins on the mid palate and a floral finish. medium body, dry and smooth but a bit high on the carbonation (which calms after warming). sadly, i could drink this all day and not think about it. it’s tasty but nothing really stands out for me...

Bu au YeHa! 06. Brune acajoux, peu de collet. Arome de malte doux et sucré. Goût d’houblon amère et sec, un peu épicé
