Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

750 ml. brown, Belgian style bottle. Corked & caged. No freshness date. Maybe not the freshest sample because it has very little carbonation to it, and it tastes kind of weird. Aromas are of cardboard, some dried fruits, funky Brett, burnt cookies. Flavors are metallic mostly. Has a nasty aftertaste.

Pours a ruby brown with a small head. Aroma is of raisins, sugar, and some other dark fruits. Nice malt backing, and nice little bit of carbonation.

7/21/06 On tap@O’Brien’s: The color of prune juice with a purple tinge and just a wisp of foam that fades to a halo. Aroma is red wine and a wiff of banana. Flavor has a light sweet start with some spice and yeast, some port a hint of bubble gum and banana with a tangy dry finish. Light to medium bodied and smooth with lively carbonation. 11/24/07 Growler from the brewery: Prune juice color with just a wisp of foam. Aroma is rich dark fruit. Flavor follows aroma with raisin and prune some light spice with a tangy semi-dry finish. Medium body is smooth with lively carbonation.

Clear rich mahogany color with absolutely no head. (?) Aroma of earth, dark fruits and toffee. Medium body. Slightly sticky. Flavor is medium sweet. Flat carbonation. It seems like this bottle lost its carbonation somewhere.

Tasted at YeHA! 2006 in Montreal. App.: cloudy brownish-copper. Aroma: raisins, molasses, all the usual dark smells (whatever that means...). Palate: sparkling carbonation, med., syrupy body. Flav.: sweet, much like the nose and a little alcoholic.

3-2-08 bottle shared at tasting
Thin amber light brown in color with a small tan bubbly head. Nice smooth candied apple smell with light caramel notes in there too. Sweet flavor of doughy bread and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is fitting for the flavor. Drinkable but not on the top of my list overall. Just a bit more alcohol than I wanted to notice.
