Nothing stands out, but definitely not a bad beer. Candy sugar w/ mild smokey flavor. stefanje (941), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2007 750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy mahogany reddish brown with a off-white head that fades quickly(3 minutes). Aroma was light with malts, spices, and dried fruits, but the aroma disappeared with the head. Points deducted for aroma and appearance because of the poor head and weak aroma. The flavor is clearly that of a Belgian style beer, and a good one at that. Flavors are complex with spices(a bit of coriander perhaps), dried fruit, caramel, walnuts, and a touch of hops. Mouthfeel is ample and full with a touch of astringency. Finish is long and slightly sweet with alcohol showing. Overall this is a very like-able beer that I will drink again. fidel (941), Livermore, California, USA

Dark reddish brown pour with a thick head of fizzy tan foam that displayed some great retention. Decent lacing. The aroma included toasted caramel, raisins, and plums. Heavy on the dark fruits and sweet malt. The flavor had dark fruits and plenty of caramel. Pretty sweet. Some warming alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied with a hefty dose of aggressive carbonation. A fairly standard dubbel. Decent. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
