Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

750ml caged and corked bottle. Pours murky brown with a glimmer if red, small tan head. Smells of toffee, dough, dark fruit, caramel, light spice. Taste is the same but fruitiness is more prevalent. Good dubbel but doesn’t hold up to the Belgian examples.

[Bottle, thanks badgerben] Poured brown with a small light tan head. Aroma was sweet and yeasty with raisins coming through. Taste was also sweet, with brown sugar and raisins being most noticeable.

Bottle at CT4 courtesy of ohiodad. Dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma of belgian yeastiness, dark fruitiness and chocolate. A little head coming through and just a little roastiness.

750 ml. bottle. shared with Gabe. Pours a thin long lasting tan head, with some lacing, over a cloudy, medium amber (SRM 15) cloudy, with some floaties, body......nose of fig, raisin, sweetened breads....taste of sweet dried fruits, cherry, fig raisin, with a mild bitterness toward the end, alcohol tones are present.....mouth feel is light, carbonation low. This is really more typical of an Abt/Quad or a Belgian Strong style than the usual Dubbel. The malt back bone is not as pronounced as most and the phenolic/ester from the yeast really comes forward. It illustrates how wide styles really are.

A nice, dark ale. Very much a peppery, estery belgian-style ale. Tastes of coriander, a little bit of caramely raisin and also banana. A good beer, but really not my style. I cannot say that it is not well crafted, because it is definitely that. I just do not appreciate the style as much as I should I guess.

750 ML 2008 Bottle-Trade w/hellbilly-Cloudy amber color w/a medium tan head. Sweet, biscuit aroma. Flavors of bread dough, malt, caramel, dark fruit, raisins, fig, & molasses. Had a sweetness to it, but not in a cloying or sickening way. Deep, full, satisfying sweet malt backbone. Very easy drinking; alcohol well hidden. Long malt finish; quite good! Thanks Joshua!!!

Brown coloured with a bit of a tan head. Very carbonated but thin mouthfeel. Chocolatey flavours and a bit of sour in there as well.
