Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Pours dark, barely translucent brown with a 1finger pillowy light tan head. Aroma is tree fruit, caramel, raisins, fresh baked yeasty bread rolls, orange marmalade, hints of grass and floral hops. Flavor is dusty toasted white bread with orange marmalade, fig, raisin, burnt sugar, wet leaves, earthy notes, a little red apple skin and blackberries. Finish is dark fruit, burnt sugar, a little alcohol and light bitternes. Palate is medium thickness, a little oily up front and fairly dry though a little sticky to finish, carbonation is about right for a dubbel, nice and soft, but vibrant. Overall this is a tasty beer, a good dubbel but, really nothing to interesting.

Thanks to Tradehops for this one; my bottle reads 8% abv. Interesting muddy-brown color, oily head with minimal bubbles. The smell is nice, cinnamon toast, nuts, raisins, sweets, root beer candies, and maybe some alcohol. Slightly spicy flavor and the raisins are present. Bottle compliments of DrBayern (thanks Matt). Poured a lively reddish brown, hazy with off beige foamy head. Aroma evident of raisins, malts and spices. Flavour was full bodied, raisins, malts, rock candies and spices. Fathers smooth, yet sweet. A decent dubbel, but I was expecting a little more from the brewer.

The beer arrived in a 750 ml. Corked and caged bomber, and looked brownish orange in color when poured. The head atop it was beige, a little shy of two finger thick, and craggy. The smell was lighter than I was expecting, with a floral and soured fruit profile. The taste was sweet and rummy, and not quite as dry as the true Belgian examples I’ve sampled before. The carbonation was prickly in the mouth as result of the thinner than normal body, and the alcohol was also quite evident. Despite some of these flaws making this a little abnormal for the style, I found it was an overall enjoyable beer.

750mL corked bottle: Pours a clear deep amber color with medium sized light tan head that dissapears immediately. Aroma is slightly perfumy, notes of raisens, rum, brown sugar, hint of vanilla. Flavor is malty, fair amount of caramel, bit of apple, pear, figs, cinnamon, slightly estery. Finish is slightly sweet. A good brew, though not amazing.

750 m. bottle from trade with Ty, shared with Exec Board. Pours brown w/ amber hues. Fizzy, beige head that quickly dissipates. Nose is caramel and toffee, raisin, touch of plum with some alcohol present. Taste is much the same, caramel and toffee, touch of roast, some fruity undertones, raisin, and lot of alcohol. Very hot. Mouthfeel is thin but sticky.

Tap @ Port Brewing. Pours a ruby red with a fading head. Light fruity aroma, some banana. Good fruit mouthfeel, smooth malty. chocolatey. Alcohol is very well hidden. Raisen aftertaste with a hint of alcohol warmth. Would buy again!

0.75l - Dark brown liquid under massive, light tan head. Lacing throughout. Raisins and cherry nose. Cherry jam and cooked pasta on palate, with a persistent sourness throughout. This was good.
