Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Bottle. Pours with hardly any head. Taste is baked and doughy with lots of raisens and cinnamon. Grapes and oranges to go with some coriander.

Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, jerc, mabel, mds & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy orange-brown with an average size somewhat-lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, Xmas spices, a little lactic -- the sweetness and spicyness is perfectly blended together. Flavour’s yeasty with sweet malt, brown sugar, spices, some hops and a big bitter finish. Average bodied. Interesting, it didn’t knock my socks off like it did my fellow tasters but I still found it to be a very good beer.

Thanks to awaisanen for the trade. Pours a deep brown with some nice chestnut/ruby red highlights and a medium creamy light tan lacing head. Aroma of raisins, hard candy, banana, nuts, figs, citrus, floral, some caramel, light chocolate, Belgian spices and yeast...just a very nice complex Dubbel aroma. Flavor of yeast, chocolate malt, raisins and other dark fruits. Also picking up some caramel, toffee and nuts.

Bottle. Corked and caged 750mL. Pours a bubbly mahogany. Muddied clarity. Nose is dusty earth cob-webby yeast, dark fruits, and soft caramel. Taste is mostly bittersweet and has some under-ripened dark fruit flavors. Some earthy flavors, Belgian yeast, flowers, and dusty books round out the flavor. Body is very bubbly but still chewy. Lots of burping throughout this bottle. Finishes with more dark fruits, bit sweeter maltiness, big yeast and floral notes and softer earthen flavors. Nice!

750ml bottle. Smelled mostly of clove, but there were also whiffs of pear and cola/sassafras. Poured a clear ruddy brown color. The head was off white and reduced relatively quickly to a thin ring. Dry up front with some sugars emerging toward the end. Carbonation was somewhere near the middle of the spectrum. The flavor was spicy and earthy with a distinct clove note. Toasted bread and dark fruit were also present and a hint of sassafras came out at the end. Yum.

Bottle @ thewolf-and-his-flock-of-sheep tasting session. Hazy orange brown color, medium brownish head. Aroma is slight sugary, quite fruity, raisins. Very malty taste, sugary sweet. Again these kind of brews tend towards barley wines instead of abbey dubbels.

Brown colored with slight red hints. Little yellow head. Nicely spiced aroma with some chocolate and lemony spices. High carbonation. Flavor is also rich with sweet sugary touch, yeast and biting alcohol, which is still not too strong. Aftertaste dries strongly with some alcohol and yeast. Not very Belgish brew.

750ml bottle, purchased during the summer at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA, before it was available all over SD. Christmas Day Drinking with a pal, bottle 2. Pours opaque cloudy brown with a thing white head. Aroma has hints of sugar and dried fruit. The taste is sweet and full bodied with a nice bit of dried fruit. Really quite tasty.
