Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Dark reddish brown. Winey raisin aroma. Sweet and promising. Light body. Wine and raisin flavour. Finish has hints of chocolate. Thin alcohol edge.

Bottle. cloudy brown pour with a small tan head. Aroma is big, full of fruit, honey, yeast and smells pretty sweet. Flavor is very nice, but it is a bit hot. And I have had this bottle for awhile. I taste lots of dried fruit, yeast, caramel and the alcohol. Good, but there are a lot better dubbels to find.

In the bomber bottle from the Solana Beach Pizza Port. Pours a reddish brown with a very small to no head and copious large carbonation bubbles. The aroma was simply amazing i the tannins that made it smell quite like walking into a leather tack shop. The fun ends there. The body was too thin- watery in fact, the palate was harsh and too fizzy. There just was not a lot of memorable flavor here other than a very mild raisin fruitiness. A disappointment.

A very good beer that I probably don’t appreciate enough because Pannepot Reserva preceded it. There is sweet malt in the aroma. Opaque brown appearance. Flavor has some fruit, including prunes and apple, as well as sweet malt. A thick beer, and very good in or out of its style.

Bottle. Ruby brown beer with a nice lt cocoa colored head. Brown sugar, figs, and plum in the aroma. Fruity (date, fig, plum, banana), yeasty, earthy, malty, candi sugar flavor. Lingering earthiness. Flavor fades a bit too quickly.

Pours a murky brown color with a thin offwhite head. Nice aroma of leather, yeast and caramel, there’s a rich malt presence too. Good flavor of caramel, leather, caramel, there’s a luscious malt presence and there’s astringency in the finish. The body is full with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation.

Bottled. Tasting @ Kolding Bryglaug. Aroma is very fruity, lots of raisin. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is sweet with a little sourish touch. It has raisin.. Lots of raisin. Some sugar as well. Bit dry and smooth. Good, enjoyable beer.

750mL bottle listed at 7% ABV. Pours with a rocky, off-white head covering a fizzy looking, hazy, dark amber-brown body. Aroma has raisins, figs, vanilla and some toasted malts. Taste is candied fruits, a rich body with light spiceyness, then yeastyness, finishing with a bit of smoke. A bit more carbonated than my liking, but so are many Dubbels in Belgium. The mouthfeel was water thin.
