Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

750 ML 2008 Bottle-Trade w/hellbilly-Cloudy amber color w/a medium tan head. Sweet, biscuit aroma. Flavors of bread dough, malt, caramel, dark fruit, raisins, fig, & molasses. Had a sweetness to it, but not in a cloying or sickening way. Deep, full, satisfying sweet malt backbone. Very easy drinking; alcohol well hidden. Long malt finish; quite good! Thanks Joshua!!!

Suprisingly light for a beer like this. Candi sugars, rum, alcohol, yeast and dark fruits in the nose. Appearance is a dark copper/brownish, with a tannish head w/o much retention. I got some black cherry, prunes, dates, tobacco and apples from the taste. Overall, it might just be my favorite so far from the Lost Abbey selection, although Angels Share is looking nice. Nicely done from the Port Brewing guys!

Bottle @ thewolfs pre-festival tasting, Kolding.
[thank you, Boutip]
Pours deep red with a nice, frothy, beige-brown head. Great lacing. Aroma has chocolate, raisins, plums and caramel. Fine creamy mouthfeel. Lovely balanced flavour, sweet chocolate, caramel, raisins, plums, apple and raspberries. Wonderful dubbel.

Pour is a very nice looking murky, chestnut-mahogany color but the head is small, beige, fizzy and fully diminishing with no lace. Nose is pleasant with lots of figs, raisins, dates, caramelized notes, toasty nutty tones, light chocolate, and plum; very fruity and sugary but not overly sweet. Flavor is similar but with more malt richness; fig again is prominent, raisins, plums, nice Belgian chocolate, toasted almonds, caramelized dates, light brown sugar, and just a bit of toasted oak notes in the finish lending a mild and earthy bitterness. Palate is fair but dubbelish with a medium body, round, silky, thin, and very lively. Finishes with the fruit notes becoming almost apple-ish, like an apple brandy with other notes of similar chocolate, toasted almonds, brown sugar, and the oak notes lingering. A very nice fruity-type dubbel with the addition of the raisins really complementing the beer instead of dominating. A very disappointing appearance and an average palate but a very drinkable and likable beer. One of my favorite dubbels and I would expect nothing less from LA/PP.

750ml bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a murky, swamp water brown with a small, wispy beige head, not much lacing. Nose was dominated by Dark candied fruits, spice, fig and alcohol. Flavor was much the same with a little extra kick of booze and yeast in the finish.

Bottle shared, courtesy, slob. Poured a cloudy brown with reddish hues, beautiful tan head, great retention. Aroma was candied sugar, spices, light floral notes. The flavor was raisins, coriander, spice, yeast, breadiness, light cherry-plumby thing going on. Mouthfeel was creamy, spicey, zingy. A pretty nice dubbel. Thanks, Bert!
