Pours with a cloudy, brown body topped by a medium thick to thick head with little lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a nice banana note and a note of yeast, as well as, a touch of cany sugar. Medium to full bodied, slightly tingly and yet smooth.

Bottled. Tasting @ Kolding Bryglaug. Aroma is very fruity, lots of raisin. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is sweet with a little sourish touch. It has raisin.. Lots of raisin. Some sugar as well. Bit dry and smooth. Good, enjoyable beer.

Dark mahagony brown with nice tan head. Aroma is spicey with fig, raisins and candied sugar. COmplex mouthfeel and flavour, lots of dark fruit, plum and raisins with underlying sugary and yeasty malts. Nice smooth beer.

Pours cloudy brown, with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, spices, and some nuts. Flavor is fruit, yeast, nuts, spices, and malt. Body is a little too thin. It falls just short of being really special...a little too dry and thin.

Aroma is raisins/figs/dark dried fruits, subtle bubble gum, clove and pepper. Quite complex and rich, the malt dominates. Appearance is ruby in color with a thin halo of bubbles that persists for longer than a minute. Not the billowy foam I’d find on most dubbels. Flavor is rich, roasty, bready, caramel, raisins, figs, liquorice, spicy & malt focused. Back end spicy noble hop flavor can be found, but is really subtle. Sweetness/bitterness is well balanced. Overall malt focused with a nice estery/phenolic balance found through a great fermentation. Mouthfeel is peppery with medium-high carbonation. Mild carbonic bite and a clean, dry finish. Overall, this is really impressive and I will drink it again and again. It really hits the marks for a Beglain style Dubbel. Flame deleted :P

Translucent, semi-hazed and cherry-sapphire in color with a doily wrung for the head. Aroma’s rocking – chocolate caramel cubes, brown sugar avec frying bananas, nutmeg, ginger, caramelized chamomile and a hint of alcohol presence. Dry, sugary flavor blast causes cavities to accrue in the more vulnerable regions of the palate. Ginger and banana crème seep into honeyed grahams. Pears get caramelized with anisette and cocoa powder, thrown in for extra substance. Very well balanced, with a hint of chocolaty bubblegum peaking in late. Dry, walnuty earthiness transcends the bisquick aroma. Very telling, and thanks for sharing, Matt - I’m looking forward to cellaring the bottle you sent me, tpkenned (should it ever arrive!)

Very light feel on the mouth. I felt there was a lot of fruit flavor, specifically banana. The malt and hop balanced very nicely. Extremely delicious and well done beer.
