Aroma of plum, orange, raisin, some sweet brown sugar and caramel malts. Fairly clean but yeasty. The carbonation is a bit zippy. Finishes with raisin notes, alcohol heat and a hint of peachiness.

There is sweet malt in the aroma. Opaque brown appearance. Flavor has some fruit, including prunes and apple, as well as sweet malt. A thick beer, and very good in or out of its style. egajdzis (3638), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry fruits and candi sugar is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with candi sugar and some notes of dry figs and raisins are also noticeable. Body is quite full with some good carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. I thought this was well done overall but lacked some complexities to take it to a greater level. Impressively fruity aroma of plums/prunes, toast, banana and melon. Some tapioca sweetness as well. Brown sugar and loads of toasted malt. Fruity flavour with cherry/berry, plums and banana. A hint of herbal hoppiness on the back that keep it from being cloying. Lovely sweet beer.
