| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry fruits and candi sugar is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with candi sugar and some notes of dry figs and raisins are also noticeable. Body is quite full with some good carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. I thought this was well done overall but lacked some complexities to take it to a greater level. Impressively fruity aroma of plums/prunes, toast, banana and melon. Some tapioca sweetness as well. Brown sugar and loads of toasted malt. Fruity flavour with cherry/berry, plums and banana. A hint of herbal hoppiness on the back that keep it from being cloying. Lovely sweet beer. jgd0608 (187), Zeeland, Michigan, USA
