Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Pours a beautiful dark amber, hazy, cloudy color with a few hints of ruby tones, peircing through the goblet. There wasn’t much in the way of a head, or lacing. There were tiny bubbles that cascaded through the beer on the pour, but they slowly subsided and made their way down to join the fun in the liquid. The scent was purely wonderful. Raisins, figs, malt, fruit, yeast...couldn’t wait to sip this baby. The taste fully consumed my palate and made me crave another. Very beautiful taste and mouthfeel with a coating, lasting malty flavor and a perfect play on the palate. This is my first Lost Abbey of many to come. I loved this beer and look forward to many more from LA.

Bottle. Dark brown with a slight The aroma is of roasted malt, raisins and perhaps other dry fruit. The flavor is likewise with some fruits coming through because of the yeast. I think this beer is elegant and has a very complex flavor that is best for sipping and contemplation. This is my favorite brew from this brewery. There just is not any other brews out there that are on the same level as this one!

Beer pours dark mahogeny color with a nice thick tan colored head that is mostly retained. Aromas of bread, dark fruits, mostly raisins, candy sugar, and earthy yeastiness for good measure. Flavor of sweet, dark malts, bread pudding, and the finish is nice yeasty and dry. Palate is dead on for belgian styles. Perfect carbonation. Yummy.

On tap at Mugs. 5 oz sample. Deep reddish brown in color with a nice medium head. Fruity spicey clove aroma. Yeasty, coriander notes. Smokey roasty dry flavor. Caramel, raisin and fig notes. Sweet tasting. Dry bitter finish. Very nice beer. Very drinkable. One of my favorites.

Thanks to Dirty_Martini for the trade! Copper color with a thin head. The aroma is packed full of spice, yeast and brown sugar. Much of the same in the flavor... sweet malt, brown sugar and raisins. Something a little like wintergreen or weak mint towards the finish. Damn fine.

Thanks to awaisanen for the trade. Pours a deep brown with some nice chestnut/ruby red highlights and a medium creamy light tan lacing head. Aroma of raisins, hard candy, banana, nuts, figs, citrus, floral, some caramel, light chocolate, Belgian spices and yeast...just a very nice complex Dubbel aroma. Flavor of yeast, chocolate malt, raisins and other dark fruits. Also picking up some caramel, toffee and nuts.
