A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Fully opaque brown under short-lived brown-yellow head. Creamy rich nose, even whiffs of blue cheese. Burnt malts and roasted nuts (Pecan/Brasil/...) Som dark candy sugar. Don’t get raisins in the nose, but some alcohol & higher alcohols. Dry dark beer, woody, very malty with overtones of roasted & burnt malts. Quite some sweetness in the basis, but always under the heavy roasted notes. Some musky, animal-like flavour mixing in. Nutty as well, again. Very well bodied. Nice, and original... not a real drinking beer, however - bit too potent. I find it strange to find so few fruity elements in it, as it seems to have been the object. Thanks to brewboy, anyway!

Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, jerc, mabel, mds & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy orange-brown with an average size somewhat-lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, Xmas spices, a little lactic -- the sweetness and spicyness is perfectly blended together. Flavour’s yeasty with sweet malt, brown sugar, spices, some hops and a big bitter finish. Average bodied. Interesting, it didn’t knock my socks off like it did my fellow tasters but I still found it to be a very good beer.

Bottled. Hazy amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sour fruits, nuts and slight caramel. Flavour is caramel, nuts, some alcohol and a bit of licorace. A very smoothly and pleasantly balanced brew.

Caramel and candi sugar throughout. Dates and raisins also noted. No head or lacing. A bit too lively carbonation and a slight sour character. Brett? But, I don’t think it was intentional. A certain wheat character on the finish. Some good complexity and a decently made beer, but a little let down and expecting more from such an esteemed brewery.

Pours dark brown with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, and raisin. Taste of malts, raisin, caramel and some spice. A bit unfinished.

The beer poured a deep amber colored body with a medium thickness tan head. The nose has a malty sweet character with some fruits notes to boot. The taste is more of the same with a nice malt profile and some dried fruit characters as well.
