Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

tap at the brewery - Pours lightly hazy reddish-brown with a thin head. It has a good malted fruit aroma with a similar flavor that also includes some mild hops. A medium bodied brew, the dark fruit notes in the background are probably the high point.

Bottle from Zug4abby. Thanks, wherever you are these days. Pours a deep amber red with an off white head. Aggressive aroma of raisen, maple, and vanilla. Initial flavor of dark fruits and vanilla that transitions to flavors of yeast, grains, and figs. Lots of phenols on the finish, with a wisp of booziness. Not bad. Could use a little more heft in the malt department for my personal tastes. Wife loved it

750mL bottle, Pizza Port / Port Brewing event at Brickskeller. Pours a murky, brownish color; light tan head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Generous, dried fruit and caramel aroma; biscuity and slightly dry. Medium-to-full, chewy mouthfeel: pleasant dried dark fruits and bready, biscuity warmth; very nice American-made dubbel, the best I’ve had in a while. Medium, dark malt and bready finish.

Sampled the night before DLD. Slightly hazed brown pour with off white head. The aroma and flavor are dominated by the yeastiness. The flavor has some dried fruit like raisins as well. Slightly fizzy/foamy for me but a good beer. Carbonation is a bit of an issue for me but the flavor and mouthfeel over come that to make this a solid offering.

Pours a huge head, crazy foam. Aroma of spice, candy, some apple. First sip is biting- heavy carbonation...Need to let it settle down. Rich, chocolate, coffee, sweet and malty flavors, with spice and raisin. Like eating a thick slice of dark brown candied bread. Enjoyed it.
