Dec 25, 2006 750ml bottle, purchased during the summer at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA, before it was available all over SD. Christmas Day Drinking with a pal, bottle 2. Pours opaque cloudy brown with a thing white head. Aroma has hints of sugar and dried fruit. The taste is sweet and full bodied with a nice bit of dried fruit. Really quite tasty.

Apr 26, 2007 [261-20070413] 1pt9.4floz (c/o HogTownHarry, w/ him, blankboy, jerc, mds, tupalev). Deep barrel wine-grape richness in the aroma with not unpleasant light plastic background notes. Hazy, brown orange body with a medium-lasting bubbly creamy off-white head. Tastes like sweet candied booze with light caramel and floral notes. Medium-full boozy body. Super alcohol with strange candy is an interesting blend.

Aug 19, 2007 Pours a deeb darrk brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of rasin, plum, hint of coffee. Taste is bold. malty, carmel, coffee. Finish is a little alcoholy.

May 11, 2007 Poured from tap at the brewery. Huge diacetyl nose and flavor. Normally considered a deficiency, but I liked it because of the magnitude. Great lacing and head. Reddish color. Sweet malty and light bitterness.

May 19, 2008 750mL bottle listed at 7% ABV. Pours with a rocky, off-white head covering a fizzy looking, hazy, dark amber-brown body. Aroma has raisins, figs, vanilla and some toasted malts. Taste is candied fruits, a rich body with light spiceyness, then yeastyness, finishing with a bit of smoke. A bit more carbonated than my liking, but so are many Dubbels in Belgium. The mouthfeel was water thin.

Jul 2, 2008 Bottle from drewbeerme. Thanks! Hazy burgundy color with a medium head. Aroma of maple, grain and subtle notes of alcohol and hop bitterness. Taste is much the same with nutty and earthy notes. Thin body.
