Commercial Description:
A life worth living is full of discovery and we are reminded everywhere there is opportunity. All it takes is desire to seek out and find these things, these moments and everything in between. We brewed Lost and Found Abbey Ale to pay homage to the great monastic breweries of Belgium. Like us, we hope you’ll take the time to discover a beer that breathes aromas of figs, raisins and candied fruits. Please join us by raising your glass as we offer a toast to patience, perseverance, and all the things we have lost along the way and were somehow lucky enough to find once again.

Bottled. Beer no. 10 @ American Blind III. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense brown head. Cocoa, alcohol, sweetness and fruits in the aroma. Flavour is light yeasty, sweet, full of cocoa and fruits. Medium bodied. Quite dry. Sweet and spicy end. Nice one.

Bottle. Corked and caged 750mL. Pours a bubbly mahogany. Muddied clarity. Nose is dusty earth cob-webby yeast, dark fruits, and soft caramel. Taste is mostly bittersweet and has some under-ripened dark fruit flavors. Some earthy flavors, Belgian yeast, flowers, and dusty books round out the flavor. Body is very bubbly but still chewy. Lots of burping throughout this bottle. Finishes with more dark fruits, bit sweeter maltiness, big yeast and floral notes and softer earthen flavors. Nice!

Bottle. Murky brown-red with a small sudsy white head. Dark caramel sugars and raisin aroma. Alcohol is characteristic of the flavour as well as sugar and sweet malt. There are also some toasted/burnt caramel notes. Pretty good.

Enjoyable though nowhere near as great as their Judgment Day. Mine was crystal clear mahogony brown, small tan head. Nose of sweet toffee and dried fruits. Mouth a little thin but ok. Taste a little simple ... sweet toffee and candi sugar, a little raisin and prune. // End of the bottle is not as clear as the first pour, of course.

Minimal off-white head of fine bubbles. Sparse carbonation. Looks a little lifeless in the glass. Dark malts, molasses, spices and dark fruits. Color is a ruddy dark mahagony brown. Sweet and malty flavor, with some raisins, more molasses and caramel. Typical dubbel flavor but a little bit flat. Very flavorful though. Finishes sweet and malty. A decent brew but nothing really that fantastic. Smooth and flavorful.

I’ll start with saying that I tried all the lost abbey series at GABF and found w/ the exception of the tommee that they are all pretty overrated and share a similar yeast characteristic. Cloudy off yellowish brown color nice light tan head. Odd bready yeasty aroma hints of dark fruits raisens hints of banannas. palate is fluffy and well coated. Flavor is banannas all spice clove and candied sugars. Ok.
