Shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel, mds and tupalev - my bottle via trade with DarkElf - DarkElf+ Fest ’07!!. Cloudy fairly deep orange/brown, small creamy head. Sweet, spicy and yeasty aroma - lactic, with some sweet floral hop overtones. Taste - really nice - lactose, soft sweet spice, confectioners sugary malt, very smooth, not much alcohol presence, slight sharp bitterness in the finish. Average body, somewhat syrupy, increasing spice funkiness - really soft and lovely and spicy - well done! TURDFERGUSON (1603), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Bottle I bought in Bethlehem, PA on the way back from BCTC ’07. Also bought a 2003 WWS. Nice little store, but a little overpriced. 10.99 for a 22 of wipeout ipa. anyway, this was a tasty dubbel. Its been a while since I have had a good one and I have kind of been avoiding the style recently, well not avoiding it but not explicitly going after it. Lost and Found pours a dark chestnut with a small off white head. Good lacing . Nose is raisins, prunes, plums. figs, brown sugar, and candied fruits. Flavor is nice and malty, with some more brown sugar, a little coffee, and cocoa too. Nice brew, enjoyed with tasty shrimp and grits prepared by the world’s best chef, Wanda Moore Hunter. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a dark garnet colored body under a minimal large bubbled fizzy head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is pretty classic for the style, over-ripe bananas, marshmellow, caramel, yeast, and a touch of light alcohol. Flavor is spot on as well. Very fruity with lots of banana, yeast, caramel, and light alcohol. Some residual sugars on the slightly warming finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied and slightly sticky with a nice low level of carbonation. The alcohol is a little warming but not overpowering. This was pretty darn good. A little lacking in the appearance due to the lack of carbonation, but it really added to the palate and overall satisfaction. Skinnyviking (4157), Copenhagen, Denmark

Apple pear plum raisin caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel raisin flavor with a good deal of hops bitterness and a hint of alcohol as well as a spicy note. Pretty carbonated and a long bittersweet aftertaste. thornecb (1773), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Sweet, biscuit aroma. Flavors of bread dough, malt, caramel, dark fruit, raisins, fig, & molasses. Had a sweetness to it, but not in a cloying or sickening way. Deep, full, satisfying sweet malt backbone. Very easy drinking; alcohol well hidden. Long malt finish; quite good! Thanks Joshua!!!
