Hazy golden in color with a medium off white head. Aroma has a good amount of saison yeast- citrusy, peppery, and musty, with pale malts, earthy hops touches of honey. Taste has a moderate hop bitterness as well as citrus, pepper, and a mild malty sweetness. Finishes with lingering yeast and hop bitterness. OldMrCrow (1202), Seattle, Washington, USA

Without question, Lost Abbey brews some of the best saisons in the US, and this is yet another one of them. A sort of LA Red Barn meets Urthel Hop-It, this offers a lovely dusty-grassy aroma, some wheaty-clovey-banana notes, a strong hop finish with a mineral bitterness that cuts deep. Orange peel, restrained funk, not sour, that’s fine, it’s a spendid saison albeit with more hop bite than one is used to in the style.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Pours a light golden in color. Only a bit of frothy head sits atop. Smell is a bit funky and a bit spicy as well. Taste is a bit carbonated. There is a bit of funk and a bit of spice in the flavor. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but there’s a good amount of bitterness and carbonation to accenuate the flavor. Decent flavor. Easy drinking and non-obtrusive. paiste2002 (158), Saugus, California, USA

Nose is grassy, earthy, yeasty and a bit peppery. Hops are more pronounced in the flavor leaving a bit of bitterness amidst the bready malt, citrus, and yeast flavors. Good stuff, very easy drinking. Enjoyable, if not too complex, saison. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2008 750 ml bottle - pours straw gold with slight haze; white head settles down leaving lots of lacing; aromas are seductively mild - lemons, orange peels, grass; light bodied and flavor starts mild, but starts to ramp up just like the aromas; dry, lemony finish; honey, grass and wheat; very mild funk and pretty tasty overall; texture quite different when compared to most LA beers
