Commercial Description:
Ne Goeien is Flemish for "A Good One." We’d like to think this beer is exactly that. When we invited Hildegard Van Ostaden from Urthel to come brew with us at Port Brewing, we hoped the collaboration of our brewers and her passion for brewing would result in one fine beer. A simple Saison styled beer with firm bitterness is all she requested. From the beginning, it was easy to imagine this beer as Ne Goeien all the way.

Bottle thanks to SoLan, thanks for the hook up man!. Poured a hazy golden-orange color with a thick, dense white head that slowly receded to a layer and left nice lacing. Aroma of yeast, some light wheat/straw, citrus (orange peel, light lemon, and apricot), some light barnyard, and floral hops. Crisp, lightly funky entry with some straw and soft undertones of orange and lemon with a hint of peppery spice leading into a dry yeasty finish with some lightly spicy, floral hops and a touch of fruitiness. Crisp and dry on the palate, something it seems a lot of American saisons aren’t. Very nice beer, and thanks again Alan. I need to get my hands on another bottle or 2.

Light orange color with a beautiful, authentically Belgian, well lasting foam. Dry, barnyard aroma, with hints of leather, horse, dough, with some spiciness as well. Solid flavor composition. Well made, with hints of spice, pepper, farmhouse. It’s not a complex beer, but a nicely crafted offering.

750ml bottle again shared by drewbeerme....pours a golden hazy yellowelixir with a substantial soapy white head.... very clean aroma of pineapple and citrus with a decent degree of mustiness to it..... flavors are crisp with clean citrus flavors and a very nice dry finish....normally not a fan of saisons as most are way too spiced. really drinkable and a standout for the style for me.

Sampled at Lost Abbey during RBSG. Lots of yeast and some citrus in the aromas. Flavors were more malty with some spice and a bit of fruit on the finish. Nice beer.

750 courtesy of mashmaster. Pours copper with a pillowy white head. Smells of dry malt, light fruit, a touch of spice. Tastes crisp and dry. Straightforward and well made.

Aromas of musty malt, yeasty fruit, orange, lemon, and spicy peppery hops. Pours a vibrant hazy yellow orange with a great head and sticky lacing. Flavors of musty malts, sweet fruity esters, oranges, lemon, with a mild peppery/floral/grapefruit bitterness. Light carbonation, smooth and medium bodied on the palate. Nice.

Bottle. Hazy orange yellow with a lingering white head. Nice spicy peppercorn, dusty pale malt aroma. Medium body and lightly carbonated. Flavors are dusty, grainy pale malts with peppercorn and a touch of sweetness. A very fresh tasting Saison here.

Bottle... RBSG ‘08... Cloudy, straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The nose is spicy, herbal and a touch citric. Medium-bodied and creamy with ticklish carbonation. Moderate pale malt sweetness and modest to medium herbal and grapefruit bitterness. Lengthy, bitter, herbal finish.
