Commercial Description:
This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

A very enjoyable brew. Aroma of orange, spices and wheaty yeast. Appearance is cloudy, hazy orange with minimal head. Flavor is very nice of orange, spices, brett and some pepper. Also has the flavors of sweet that come thru but don’t have the sweetness of them. Palate is semi-thick, smooth and slightly bitter. A very nice saison.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a hazy gold with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of pear, spice, yeast, wheat and a hint of apple. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth lightly dry finish. Flavors of pear, spice, wheat and yeast with a smooth dry lingering fruity finish.

Bottle pours cloudy gold with a large white head. Aroma of yeast, spice, and pepper. Taste also has some citrus. Mouth is light and carbonated, smooth. Finish is lightly bitter, but nice. Overall, a nice refreshing saison.

Bottle poured into cold glass. This garnered a small lacey head with nice clouds on the top of the pour. I am grateful for some carbonation in this beer as the other LA beer I cracked last night was flatter than flat. Really nice and refreshing belgian yeast flavors that exude some citrus flavors with some tangy saison lingering flavor. Very refreshing beer for the first official day of Fall 2008!
