Aroma strongly of orange juice and other spices (corriander, clove), very sweet. Flavor of light funk, sour fruits, spritzy spices, orange peel, cinnamon, sweetness. Good, but a little sweet. My first Lost Abbey, but it didn’t blow me away (I couldn’t get over that super sweet OJ!!). Ok saison; I’ve had better. TEJA (290), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Fresh but very mild aroma. Not terribly noticable. Just the style, I assume. Sweetness that develops into a strong black pepper taste. Very complex towards the end and mysterious. Not terribly easy to differentiate between flavors. Mild carbonation with very small bubbles. Taste on very tip of tongue. Don’t like the pepper taste at all. Don’t like this beer. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2008 C&C 750. Hazy orange/gold with an off white head. Yeasty, dusty nose, spicy cardamom-like scents. Spicy flavors, ginger, yeast and dust - VERY drinkable. Dry, bitter white pepper twist in the finish. Yum! Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Dirty blond color with nice head and lacing. Aroma of spice and fruit. Flavor was sweet with fruit, honey and some spice (maybe the Grains of Paradise or the Ginger) that I just didn’t like with the fruity flavor at all. Feel free to stone me if you will, but I don’t like it, really. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 25, 2008 bottle. Clear bright yellow straw color. VERY impressive head- big but not a foam over, and tons of staying power and lace. Aromas of some dull barnyard funk and chunky grainy sweetness. Flavors of mellow spice and fruit. The ginger and grains of paradise come through without dominating the brew. Tart lemon orange flavor without the hop bite. Minimal bitterness. Some yeasty sharpness. Palate is a bit of a battle between crisp dryness and some oily sticky notes. Overall a very enjoyable brew.
