Commercial Description:
This Farmhouse Ale traces its roots to the small rustic breweries of Southern Belgium. The word Saison comes to us from the French language and it means Season. Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select inspired locations.

Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

Sampled @ the Tomme Arthur Beer Master Dinner in Phoenix. So much spicier than Avante Garde...although the citrus rind and black pepper are all that my palate can place. Fruity and sweet for a saison (which is why I enjoyed it more than most)...tasty!!! Another great effort by Tomme!!!

This golden ale poured with a massive white head, eliciting a spicy aroma. This is a complex saison that tastes rather like the good Belgian versions, with lots of spices, sweetness and a peppery finish. Quite good.

Lemony orange pour with medium to big bubbled white head. Nose has nice funk to it, definite coiander and orange present. Peppery spice, leather, very whit like in aroma. Flavo is nicely funky, mildly tart, dry leather, pepper, spicey ginger really coming through, nice citrus. Nice herbal hop flavor finishes it all off. There is a caucophony of flavors going on here but they all go together very well. Body is very smooth with a nice bright carbonation. I could drink this one all day. Very crisp and fresh tasting.

Thank you davinci for sharing this beer. Hazy golden color with silky white head. Aroma is a lot of ginger with coriander and dry malt. Subtle tart sweetness and a lot earthy hops, sweet but not too sweet, a little citrus, nice coriander and very fresh tasting. Mediun body with velvety carbonation. This is quite an awesome beer.

Thanks Davinci! Pours a glowing orange/yellow with lots of bubbles and a silky white head that craters. Very strong sweet coriander orange peppery aroma, a tiny bit hot. Medium/full mouthful that sizzles a bit, creamy yet light, great body. Funky flavor, ends bitter and spicy. Sweet orange and coriander. Tons of coriander actually. Lots of ginger in the finish. Cool.

Bottle. Murky, gold color. Thin, white head. Citrus notes, some spices, and grass in the aroma. Flavor is yeasty funk, with pepper at the end. Good beer.

A Mes rate: Bottle at weekend of tarts afterparty.
Cloudy blonde with a good white head. Yeasty saison like aroma with a bit of spice. Fairly standard tripel come saison flavour with some reasonable grassy hops giving it a slight bitterness. Rather dull and far from special.

Pours with a largish, thick, creamy white head covering a clear golden body. Aroma of spices, tangarine, pepper, and a bit of DMS. Taste is pretty mild for a Saison. Nice lightly sour tangarine, and spicey notes. Some acidic wood elements. I think it is pretty good, and I dislike the style (although I still can’t drink a lot of this stuff by itself). A bit fizzy, but drinkable.
