Cloudy golden ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The fruity, breadsy aroma offers notes of fresh-baked, whole grain bread, ripe orange, peach and black pepper. The flavor is of sweet bread, biscuit and ripe fruit up front. Soft, peppery bitterness on the backside. Full-bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Crisp, lightly spiced, mildly bitter finish. Another great brew from the folks at Lost Abbey! Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 19, 2007 The beer pours a hazy orange with hints of copper, the 750ml bottle is corked and caged with the head is portly and off white in color, the texture creamy, as it fades to nothingness, the lace provides a concealing sheet upon the glass. Nose is rich in spices, hints of peach, nice malt backing, crisp and fresh to the nose. Start is sweet and malty; the top is moderate in feel. Finish has a nice moderate acidity, hops are present and the fruity sweetness combines with the dry aftertaste, a great series of beers this "Lost Abbey”. brianjames1 (322), Northridge, California, USA

Aroma is spicy citrus, ginger and clove mixed with yeast. Taste is solid saison with citrus and grassy notes, along with spices and pepper. Great mouthfeel and lingering finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Pours a very light golden color with a huge, rocky white head that lasts the duration. Smell is yeasty. Lots of yeast and just a bit of funk.
Taste is spicy, and peppery. Full and creamy on the mouthfeel. This is a decent brew. I was expecting more funkiness to it. after4ever (2806), Brier, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2007 750, corked and caged. Pours cloudy coppery orange with a towering, thick, egg-white-peaked platinum blonde head that you could probably use to insulate your house. Nice bold funky nose with sweet candied oranges, sharp orange pith, and a nice peppery grapefruit hop underneath it all. Truly a beauitfully considered bouquet--grabs your attention and intrigues you before you even walk in and set down the glass.
Tingly, sharply fizzy attack with a nice medium body and candied earth popping out all over the place. God, this is really a brilliant beer. Quenching and refreshing but plenty of layers of complexity to the earth, oranges, toast, and light funk that swirl across the mid-palate. The finish is clean, almost neutral. Lovely stuff you can sip or session. I am truly overjoyed that this stuff is now available in my town, despite the fact that I worked a trade for this over the summer. Speaking of which...this beer stood up to a couple days on the road in June or July very well. Gotta get a fresh one now too. Lovely. Just lovely. mtoast (308), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 5, 2007 75cL Bottle. Pours a very nice hazy dark golden color, very tight white foam that fades yet never dies and leave great lacing. Aroma is ginger and lots of it, with just a touch of malt buried there somewhere. Flavor again HUGE on the ginger, not my favorite spice in beer and goes against my philosophy on spices in beer, if you can notice them you’ve used way too much. Mouthfeel is spot on, very light on the palate, but the the dryness left in the aftermath of the spices kinda sucks all the moisture out of my mouth. Cut the spices in half and this could be a great beer. mreeves (257), Sammamish, Washington, USA
