Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

750 ml bottle from Binnys (Orland Park, IL). Pours a nice very hazy golden pour with decent whitish head that laces well. Aromas are a bit fruity, a bit wild with a touch of apricot, and a good dose of spice, lemon, grains of paradise. A touch of sweet malts. Initial is a bit funky, with a good fruity dose behind it with some pear and apple. A good fruity, malty, brew with a citrusy orange and spicy prominence. This is fairly good brew.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Hazy golden with a large, cloudy head. Sweetish, very fruity aroma with a touch of farmhouse tartness, pale maltiness, orange peel, and other spices - plus a touch of acidity. Flavor is also sweetish-malty, and very citrus-orange-fruity with moderate acidity and spiciness. Dries towards the bitter finish. Medium body with somewhat foamy carbonation. Slightly sweet and acidic for my taste, but otherwise a very nice and refreshing, La Chouffe -like brew.

Well this is my 300th rating, so I chose a special beer for this one. I’ve had my eye on this for a while and figured this would be a good time to try it out....so here goes. Has a very hazy deep golden color. There is no way to see through this one. Aroma is full of yeast. Most of the undertones are made up of cloves, wheat, citrus, and other spices. Taste is more or less yeast with citrus and spices. Has more of a bitter taste. A truly good brew. I’m glad that I chose this for my monumental achievement. lol

aroma is sweet malty combined with soft spices that add further sweetness and a touch of late spiciness, something quite weizen like buried in there. appearance is sunny yellow with wispy head that becomes film. flavor is a touch overspiced and muddled. sweetness and peppery qualities combine and finish with a hit of hop bitterness. palate is decidedly not dry at all, adding to the list of saison qualities i enjoy yet am missing here. this aint no saison, its just what it is labeled as -- "malt beverage brewed with spices" -- emphasis on the spices
