Tastes like a clove cigarrette smells. Hard to get used to at first but by the third sip, I started to enjoy the herbal flavor. Very interesting style. I liked it. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a bit hazy, light amber. Spicy light fruity aroma with mostly orange, orange peel, all spice and black pepper. Smaller, more subtle spicy notes of clove, nutmeg, coriander and bay leaf. Maybe some other citrus tones as well. Spices and oranges in the flavour along with some sour berries and other subtle citric fruits. The spices are basically the same in the flavour as in the aroma. Light acid and a bit dry finish. Medium body. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden yellow body with a small creamy white head. Pepper and illegible spice is first impression. Light hints of alcohol and lemon. Dry mildly alcoholic flavour, pepper. Pale malts. Average to medium palate is perfect for the beer. This is a very solid example of the style that would have probably stood out more on a night with fewer other great beers. CaptainCougar (5526), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Sweet, bready oake biscuity Belgian malt aroma has some earthy green Belgian hops. Body starts full, sweet and pale biscuity malty with a good floral hoppy earthy black pepper spice for balance and a drier yeasty finish. Good authenticity and drinkability. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
